Royal Baby name making me rage

Firstly, I know that I am ridiculous and unreasonable and totally over invested but it is GIVING ME THE ABSOLUTE RAGE that the Royals haven't released the name of the baby yet. I'm sure they are doing it deliberately just to exercise the tiny scraping of power they actually have over us. They are doing evil laughs behind the curtains of Buck House and saying "let the commoners wait..."

In another country new mums have until they are in hospital, normally 3 days. After giving birth in the evening next morning a clerk person came to me before I could have my new boy with me and asked for the official name for the birth certificate. I honestly said: wtf and moved past her to see/hold my boy. She kept following me and asking over and over again... IT felt so surreal... I told her that as well as where she can go and what to do there. (Then collapsed in the middle of the corridor and rushed to docs to save me.) Came afternoon, bed with baby and she shows up again! We had the name, told her. And she didn't believe me. I was in there for 5 days because of too much blood loss and every day at least 3 times she'd come in and ask me have i changed my mind yet?! When we got released I didn't get the birth certificate as i was supposed to. She still didn't believe our choice and sent us to the council. It took month to correct this mistake as noone in the council believed that I really wasn't given that paper.... Now it's just funny. Then...not so much....
Haven't thought about this for years now...my boy's now 12 btw.

There’s such a short list of “acceptable” royal boys names and about the only other ones left are Leopold, or some obscure Victorian or Georgian prince.
I’d love it if Kate went a bit off piste.

One of the danish princes is called Vincent. Prince Vince! Grin

I worry about the state of humanity if this is causing people genuine concern. I am not an anti-royalist -- just think anyone would probably appreciate a few private moments with their son before he becomes the property of the media.

Scotland32 · 26/04/2018 18:25

Totally agree! Who really cares anyway? They think we are far more interested than we actuallly are!

LarkDescending · 26/04/2018 18:26

I wonder whether they'd be allowed e.g. Julian or Laurence or Sebastian for a third child, rather than something more traditionally princely, if they wanted?

LarkDescending · 26/04/2018 18:28

Cross-posted - Prince Albert - noooo!

AJPTaylor · 26/04/2018 18:28

Surely its time for a Prince Caspian?

wurlie · 26/04/2018 18:29

I reckon they announced the name to family as Albert.

Harry said don't be bluddy stupid, you can't call him Prince Albert.

They hadn't realised and are now having a rethink.

VileyRose · 26/04/2018 18:30

Apparently it's Albert...

Coralcolouredchrome · 26/04/2018 18:31

Just heard on news, the babie's name is going to be Winston, after Mr Churchill, so name will be Winston Windsor.

LarkDescending · 26/04/2018 18:31

wurlie maybe - hence the KP announcement about the best man thing today, to change the subject!

megletthesecond · 26/04/2018 18:32

I don't think they are daft enough to use Albert.

Arthur is on trend and would go with George and Charlotte.

Mary19 · 26/04/2018 18:35

Leopold (Leo)
Edmund(Ed)
Edgar (Ed)
Nicholas
Humphrey! Well you never know

mynameismrbloom · 26/04/2018 18:35

But Prince William is "Page not found" also...

www.royal.uk/prince-william

wurlie · 26/04/2018 18:36

Also the DM article about access being denied to a Prince Albert page on the royal website is rubbish. I just tried it with Prince Gary and it gave me the exact same message Grin

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 26/04/2018 18:36

If the DM goes for Albert, he's probably called Philip, you can trust the DM for their complete lack of accuracy Grin

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 26/04/2018 18:36

There is already a James in the Royal family-
James, Viscount Severn is Edward and Sophie's son.

I will admit to a cheeky look at twitter to check-

I do have some sympathy for them as this is the only time they can just have the baby all to themselves-as soon as he is named he is public property.

But I still want to know now!! Wink

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 26/04/2018 18:38

as soon as he is named he is public property.

where do you get that from? They have as much privacy as they want, especially with a newborn who is more than happy on any of their many properties.

Battleax · 26/04/2018 18:40

www.royal.uk/princess-charlotte Comes up as “Access denied” so does www.royal.uk/prince-george

SoupDragon · 26/04/2018 18:40

They have as much privacy as they want

No they don’t. They have as much privacy as the press and paparazzi are prepared to give them.

LarkDescending · 26/04/2018 18:41

I didn't know until today that there are two people called HRH Prince Edward (the Duke of Kent, and the Earl of Wessex).

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 26/04/2018 18:41

They think we are far more interested than we actuallly are!

I am absolutely fascinated until the train arrives at my station, then I honestly won't give a monkey about the whole thing until tomorrow morning in the same train. Grin

Battleax · 26/04/2018 18:42

But Prince William is "Page not found" also...

“Not found” is different from “access denied”.

It looks as though pages have been reserved for the kids but not “Prince William” as he uses the Cambridge title.

I think the Mail have actually got something right Grin

SoupDragon · 26/04/2018 18:42

They surely can’t be daft enough to call him Prince Albert.
