HUD Secretary Ben Carson wants to triple rent on poor people.

His rationale? He says poor people "don't want to make any more money" because they don't want to pay more in rent — so he's raising their rent to motivate them out of poverty.

NEW: Turns out the Home Office did set targets for the voluntary removal of illegal immigrants. This from the 2015 inspection report. Home Office set a target of 12,000 voluntary departures for 2015/16 and these targets were split between 19 ICE teams across the UK

More questions for Amber Rudd this morning. She told MPs yesterday; "We don't have targets for removals. If you are asking me if there are numbers of people we expect to be removed, that's not how we operate". Will @YvetteCooperMP table an UQ?

Cohen says he can’t answer any questions in the Stormy Daniels case without incriminating himself. That means any files regarding his clients in that matter, including Trump, are likely not protected by the attorney-client privilege because of the crime fraud exception.

This is a smart move by Cohen. Anything he said in the Stormy Daniels case would incriminate him, and by stating that he will take the Fifth, he greatly increases the chance that the judge will stay (in other words, freeze) Daniels' lawsuit during the criminal investigation.

To answer your questions, Cohen made a motion to stay the lawsuit while the federal investigation is pending so he is not prejudiced. If he took the Fifth in the civil lawsuit, that could be used against him. The judge is weighing whether to stay the whole suit or part of it.

I don't exactly understand the 5th.

I've been wondering about this (and am not taking his word as gospel) but it does fit the pattern of being a very socially divisive issue that deepens the rifts in social cohesion, which is the type of thing that the troll farms have been exploiting. Briefly contemplated posting musings on the Alfie threads on here but it didn't seem respectful when there is so much heartbreak involved

Can I just point out that a large amount of the tweets on the #AlfieEvans hashtag are coming known Russian troll networks pushing disinformation and preying on emotion.
