Mine's only 5.1 ....is that really small? When do they stop growing?

OP posts:
Gingerninj · 23/04/2018 18:37

But I'm also 5'1, I stoped growing not long after turning 14

DuchyDuke · 23/04/2018 18:43

I started mine at 8 and still grew six - seven inches between then and 13. Periods don’t necessarily mean you will definitely stop growing.

DuchyDuke · 23/04/2018 18:44

But I was a very tall 8 yo. Maybe I would have been taller if I hadn’t

VileyRose · 23/04/2018 18:51

I'm 5'2 :-)

My 13 yo is 5ft 4

bobstersmum · 23/04/2018 18:57

5ft 3 (step daughter) she says she's small in comparison to her friends now, but the last two years of primary she was way taller than all of them.
I think they grow at different rates.

Idontmeanto · 23/04/2018 19:08

5ft 7. She dwarfs me!

pigpoglet · 23/04/2018 19:14

14 is 5ft7 .... I'm 5 foot ! 😬

angieloumc · 23/04/2018 19:14

My DD is 14 in August and she's just under 5 foot. I'm only 5'2" (and a half!).
She has three grown up brothers and they're all 5'10" up. She obviously takes after me!

Jaguarana · 23/04/2018 19:21

I was 5'3 at 13 when I started my periods. By 14 I'd had a growth spurt & grown to 5'8. I didn't stop growing until I was 17 or 18, ending up at 5'10.

MonochromeDog · 23/04/2018 19:27

My 15 year old dd is only 5ft! She stopped growing when she was 12, which she was most put out by.

fleshmarketclose · 23/04/2018 19:29

Dd 15 is 4 feet 10, She hasn't grown in eighteen months so I think it's her final height.Periods started at 11. It's not too much of a surprise tbh I'm five feet but she has three female close relatives who are shorter than I am.

Summerisdone · 23/04/2018 19:48

I'm 5 ft 1 and I'm 28, so I wouldn't really worry too much about your daughter. She's still got a couple years of growing to do, and even if she only grows another inch or two, she still won't be majorly short; I've met plenty of women who are just slightly taller than myself and it's never seemed a big deal just as it's not been for me.

JustDanceAddict · 23/04/2018 19:50

DD pretty much stopped growing at 13 - a year or so after she started her periods, her main spurt being the year before. She got to 5ft7 and has been for a couple of years (nearly 16).

Littlefish · 23/04/2018 19:51

DD is 13. She's 5ft 8 with size 7 feet. She's the second tallest child in her class and has grown about 4 inches in the last year.

I'm 5ft 9 and DH is 6ft.

Rowgtfc72 · 23/04/2018 20:46

Dd is a month into 11 and 5ft5 with size 8 feet. We're tall stock though apart from me. I'm 5ft6 and was always the tallest at school until I started my periods at 11 and stopped growing.

JamesDelayneysTattoos · 23/04/2018 20:48

Dd was 13 last week, she’s 5ft 6.

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 23/04/2018 20:50

My dd is 14 and 5ft 7, she's taller than me!

Looneytune253 · 23/04/2018 20:50

Mine is 5 7 but think she’s stopped growing now. She’s 14 in Oct

JeNeBaguetteRien · 23/04/2018 21:14

I'm the same height now, 5'6" as when I was 14, many years ago!
I was one of the tallest on primary school, always in the back row of school photos, then seemed to stop and was middle row for a few years, then grew a lot in a few months at 14 - I remember because I'd got the ultimate fashion item, Levi's 501s for Christmas and had outgrown them by Easter (my little sister was pretty happy).

Gingernutsandtea · 23/04/2018 21:35

My dd is 5ft 8, and just turned 14.

dancinfeet · 23/04/2018 21:54

Thirteen year old DD is 5 foot 6 and still growing.

CrackersDontMatter · 23/04/2018 22:01

My DD IS 13 (December) and is 5’7”. Taller than me. She is by far the tallest in her friendship group. She hasn’t always been tall, she has just shot up over the last year or so. She’s still growing but I think she must have nearly reached her adult height.

As I said up thread my dd is tall but I'm not . I'm 5 foot and do you know what it's ok... I would actually prefer to be short than very tall as I can slip in places and go unnoticed . I was very short in secondary school though so must have grown a bit during that time ..
One major benefit for me is I was able to keep my pony that I got at 11 until I was in my 30's because I was small enough to ride her , a lot of friends had to part with theirs . Every cloud 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Ohmydayslove · 24/04/2018 07:12

I am 5foot 1! My dds are teenagers and both 5/5 which is pretty dam perfect I think
