To think they shouldn’t flaunt their bifolds....

Neighbours over the back had their lovely bifolds open all day. Had a little BBQ, lounged about in their indoor/ outdoor space. Enjoyed themselves.

It’s not on is it?

Its not bifolds you need OP. Its blinkers. No peeping. No envy.

lololove · 23/04/2018 00:31

I'd love bifolds but having had a mouse before i'd be terrified that something had gotten in

Toddlerteaplease · 23/04/2018 07:20

My friend has bi folds and am currently in a holiday cottage with them. I don't get the attraction!

Passthecake30 · 23/04/2018 07:26

I have bifolds (and had a BBQ yesterday). I think they're great dp cleans them

Pigleteer · 23/04/2018 07:52

I can’t see them from the garden but can from my first floor. And you’re right their life is on show through them - we’re always commenting on what they’re up to and my toddler got a bit obsessed with watching ‘the man in the house’!!

I'm happy enough with our french doors that open right back onto themselves. I don't like too much outside indoors.

I hate bifolds.

Oblomov18 · 23/04/2018 08:14

We have a patio door. Dh is going to replace it with a bi-fold and insert another bifold on the other side of the house.
I don't even like bi-folds!!

On the That house that Paws linked : why on earth would you have a bifold door? why would you not have a door that goes into the cavity wall, completely hidden? beyond me!

LakieLady · 23/04/2018 08:23

Fucking hell, those stripy walls damn near gave me a migraine!

Is there a name for that kind of style? Like "designer naff" or something?

PickAChew · 23/04/2018 08:39

I have an astigmatism and all those stripy walls would make me go blind. Even with my glasses on, my eyes and brain cannot process being surrounded by that much stripe!

BrashCandicoot · 23/04/2018 09:05

Jeezo. That’s strong money for where it is - the village has a corner shop/post office and literally that’s it.

ginghamstarfish · 23/04/2018 11:12

When I see those I just think - houseful of flies. Not at all envious!

PuppyMonkey · 23/04/2018 11:21

Lordy, I definitely wouldn't have bifolds if my house was overlooked like theirs obviously is...

caperberries · 23/04/2018 11:30

Bi-folds are tacky and fiddly IMO.

Grand sliders are so much better

Sidge · 23/04/2018 11:46

Paws there are so many things about that decor in that house that made me snort.

Like the lovely chair next to the loo - is that so someone can sit and read to you whilst you poo?

The huge mirror beside the bed - can you imagine seeing one's cellulitey arse as you roll over in bed? or is that just me

How tall is Hugo?

Why are the lights strung around the bedroom like an horrific spiders web?

(I do like the kitchen though...)

DevilsAttic · 23/04/2018 12:14

I also want to know how tall Hugo is!!!

DalmatianSpring · 23/04/2018 12:21

LakieLady

Showy Chic?

Loobyloomicles · 23/04/2018 12:22

As well as wanting to know how tall Hugo is, why do they have upturned plastic hospital water jugs as stools in the kitchen?

On the bifold subject, I think they look lovely but after watching too many episodes of Vera, where all the posh people seem to live in remote houses with too much glass, I'd be convinced that I'd either get stalked or murdered (or both).

BrashCandicoot · 23/04/2018 12:39

That's a good point Looby. No where to hide if your house is 67% glass Hmm

Mrsmadevans · 23/04/2018 13:22

That house looks lovely from the outside but inside has no soul, it is a culmination of decorating clichés.

bettytaghetti · 23/04/2018 13:49

They're obviously good at languages but shit at geography since they've need a sign telling them where the garden, sorry, jardin is. Grin

MorningsEleven · 23/04/2018 13:57

I'm not a fan of huge swathes of glass doors because of axe murderers and the zombie apocalypse.

pigmcpigface · 23/04/2018 14:12

Grin Your post made me laugh, OP!

I have large windows, though not bifolds. I love the light. Having lived all my life in urban neighbourhoods, privacy isn't really on my radar. Also, I don't do anything remotely interesting enough to be worried about neighbours looking in and seeing me doing it. I'll just be sitting reading a book or cooking cauliflower cheese or something.

Sidge · 23/04/2018 14:38

Can you imagine sitting on those stools in the summer? Sweaty bare skin and plastic - ugh!

Or would the open bifold doors allow a cooling breeze? Grin

BrashCandicoot · 23/04/2018 15:08

Or would the open bifold doors allow a cooling breeze?

Given that the house is in a hilly West Fife village, the bifold doors would only be open for three afternoons a year Grin

Tara336 · 23/04/2018 15:38

DP owns a window company, we have just refurbed our new home and chose not to have bifolds.... they are a pita
