I loathe them all but am ashamed to say I started calling DS (3) bubs as a jokes and now I'm in the habit and do it all the time non-ironically Blush

I need to have a word with myself.

Can we get rid of ‘poorly’, too? Especially when grown adults use it in reference to their own health! What’s wrong with ‘I’m unwell/sick/ill’?! ‘Poorly’ is such a wet and feeble word. 😑

Bubba in the US is a nickname for brother, not baby.

Some of you may have heard of professional golfer Bubba Watson from Bagdad, Florida. Smile

YABVVVU OP! Those words, and the variant 'Bubs' are used fairly regularly by my guilty crush, Noel Fitzpatrick aka Supervet!

However, if ever I heard him use 'Hun', I would LTB...

My pet hate is Buddy. I have only ever heard it on extra-annoying US TV shows, (usually from a certain type of right-on parent addressing a recalcitrant child).

@Motoko no problem if it is an actual name (especially for a cat) but for just to refer to a general female so irritating!

LightDrizzle - yep, that's Bubba. And Bubba is the cellmate that greets you in Louisiana State Penitentiary.

That's what 'Bubba' makes me think of.

Agree on a lot of these but Nana is quite normal where I'm from (East of England)

I really hate tummy, fine for children but not adults. Lots of people use it on here.

It’s so cringe! I also hate momma, mamma, momma bear...

For me 'little man' is just about bearable, 'lil man' is most definitely not. I have friends/relatives that constantly go one about their 'lil man' or 'lil girl' on facebook, I just want to type 'LIL ISN'T A WORD YOU MORON, IT'S LITTLE' but then these are the same types of people that would also put eyelashes on cars, so I realise that there is little point

I had to unfollow a friend on Facebook with a small baby, was quite enjoying seeing pictures of the baby until she captioned one "My sexy lil man" He was about 4 weeks old, just why???

My SIL bubba'd me in an IM this morning, I nearly cried when I saw it. She's a fantastic woman and I love her like she were my actual sister but I'm now thinking I might have to go NC with her.

Bahahah!

I use Bubs all the time. It started off ironic but now it's really caught on Blush

If I get really over enthusiastic I call the youngest Bubbakins. You lot would love me.. Grin

Yes to counting ‘sleeps’, deeply irritating.
