Never heard anyone say Bub or Bubba except for on MN.

My pet hate is being called 'Hun' online. I was looks for a gardener and the first 2 responses were 'Hi Hun'. Suffice to say, neither got the job.

Kursk · 19/04/2018 20:17

My cousin (29) calls her brother Bubba, but then we are in the US.

Little man is annoying.

Anyone who says bae around me I assume they are talking about bacon and eggs.

MadameEdam · 19/04/2018 20:18

I feel this way about grown woman referring to her friends as "chums". It makes my bones itch.

LiquoriceTea · 19/04/2018 20:20

I'm with you on all these....

But bizarrely I find mama and baba okay on our home...

PoodleDoodleCaboodle · 19/04/2018 20:20

Can I add 'likkle' (little) to the list too? Makes my blood boil 😡

LiquoriceTea · 19/04/2018 20:27

I don't hear likkle here but I do hear ickle!

LightDrizzle · 19/04/2018 20:27

Little Man always makes me visualise something along these lines:

To want to obliterate the words 'bub' and 'bubba'
LightDrizzle · 19/04/2018 20:32

And this is “bubba”

To want to obliterate the words 'bub' and 'bubba'
Bluetrews25 · 19/04/2018 21:06

There was a company on twitter or somewhere called 'likkle bokkles'
Seriously, I kid you not. They sold small bottles.

Catsrawesome · 19/04/2018 21:07

Well, I call my cat “ my little man” though technically he is only two years old... I dunno, “ little boy” just seems wrong.

GreenVelvetwithfrills · 19/04/2018 21:54

Can I say I hate the term “hun” ...it causes my eyes to involuntarily roll..
And people who pronounce almond....alllmomd !! 😄

GreenVelvetwithfrills · 19/04/2018 21:55

Oops alllmond

DaphneFanshaw · 19/04/2018 22:01

Ha. MNers must hate me, my dts were bubba and bubba loo when they were.... well....bubbas.
I say well annoying things like Yorkies, roasties, sarnies etc.
I don’t say Hun though. Wouldn’t stoop that fucking low.

HolyMountain · 19/04/2018 22:03

Mama
Bubba
Hubby
Hun

All shit.

BennyTheBall · 19/04/2018 22:03

bubs, bubba, hubs, hubby, lil man - I judge and want to kill anyone that uses them.

GreenVelvetwithfrills · 19/04/2018 22:04

Oh not roasties..! ( husband) and veggies !!! Roast potatoes and vegetables...and Telly !!! Definitely television in our house...

I’ve so outed myself now !

Seafoodeatit · 19/04/2018 22:05

@TheJoyOfSox I'm sure their face would have been a picture! I can imagine a nice unassuming couple going home wracking their brains wondering what made them come across as national front! Grin

Bedtimesnacks · 19/04/2018 22:11

Chuck gawjus in the bin too.
Getting quite a list

Laserbird16 · 19/04/2018 22:16

I hate missy. My in laws use it all the time. I never know if they are talking to me, my niece, my daughter, my SIL or the cat. I also hate it implies bossy or madam. Arrrgh!

Laserbird16 · 19/04/2018 22:17

Though I think MIL uses missy because she can't for the life of her get anyone's name right!

trueblueari · 19/04/2018 23:20

Bubs doesn't annoy me too much but I hate little man/little lady.

@TheJoyOfSox also off topic but that reminded me of a friend who, while trying to explain that she was a Scottish nationalist and a socialist, proudly proclaimed that she was a National Socialist. Shock

Wineandpyjamas · 19/04/2018 23:50

Oh god, I hate om nom nom - I have an acquaintance on Facebook who takes photos of her food and always captions it with on nom nom, makes me want to punch something.

Also couples with kids who call their other half ‘mummy’ or ‘daddy’ even when the kids not around! Like ‘Oh mummy can you come here a moment?’ Angry

Motoko · 20/04/2018 00:20

One of our cats is called Missy. Her name is accurate, she is a bossy madam.

LegallyBrunet · 20/04/2018 00:26

@TrickyD I think Nan and nana are regional. I’m from the North East and they’re the norm there

DoomPoodle · 20/04/2018 00:35

I have a neighbour who uses most of the above. She drives me mental. When my youngest DS was small she called him bubba/bubs. I would always say "who....oh you mean NAME". It never got through. Now she sends "Hi hun" messages to my facebook page with things my "hubby" might like.

It gives me the rage.
