Probably a bad mum but can someone tell me what to put a ten month girl in today clothes wise? It’s the first warm day and I don’t know how many layers. 😂

It's 22 C here so id put her in a little dress or an armless and legless onesie and make sure she had loads of suncream on & a Sunhat! 😊

0lgaDaPolga · 19/04/2018 10:38

I’ve got my 10 month old in a t-shirt and short dungarees today. We will go out later and I’ll attempt to get him to wear a hat and put sunscreen on his arms and legs. Rompers with short arms and legs are great for summer.

noeffingidea · 19/04/2018 10:38

Anything over 20 degrees is like summer to me, so I'd dress them in sundress or shorts/t- shirt, or a short onesie. I usually used to keep a spare cardigan or light weight hoodie under my buggie.

gamerchick · 19/04/2018 10:39

I think the general rule for babies is one more layer than you. But at 10 months I’d probably just use common sense. You’ll know if she’s cold.

Mol1628 · 19/04/2018 10:40

Vest and short dungarees
T shirt and shorts/skirt
Short armed and legged romper suit

Littlejayx · 19/04/2018 10:43

Thank you so much! I’ve put her in a tshirt and some little flamingo hareems, it’s 22 but a tad windy, I’m going to purchase a sun hat today 😂

Massive muslins, too. Make shade on the pram, drape over baby in sling etc. My 4 mo sheds layers as the day went on yesterday, but always a hat and lots of shade.

Whenwillitgeteasier · 19/04/2018 10:46

Clearly we need to see the flamingo harems! In fact, i want some.

soupforbrains · 19/04/2018 10:46

I wish I had flamingo hareems Sad

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 19/04/2018 10:49

The general rule is one more layer than you. A dress and a vest or a dress and a cardigan will be fine.

Allmyshilldren · 19/04/2018 10:50

Please don’t put a large muslin or anything over the prism as suggested above. It’s really dangerous:

Allmyshilldren · 19/04/2018 10:51

Pram not prism!

PenApple · 19/04/2018 10:52

It’s a whole 11c is Scotland today 😡

Hopefully we get a couple of days where we can crack out he flamingo hareems 😬

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 19/04/2018 10:52

DS2 was born in late August, 9lb 12oz, he didn't fit into any of the romper suits I'd bought him and the shops only had autumn/winter clothes in, even worse, we had a heatwave that October and I was still trying to squeeze him into the same romper suits! 😂

Imstickingwiththisone · 19/04/2018 10:54

I'm with you op. One layer more than you is great advice. Only I'm that person who has two layers more than everyone else so im a crap judge til I get out and see what normal people are wearing. I need to people watch free the window before dressing I think!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 19/04/2018 10:55

Are hareems the trend this summer? I was looking for joggers for DD 10 and all anywhere has is leggings, jeggings and hareems.

IHateToCashew · 19/04/2018 10:56

DS is slathered in sun cream, in a romper. And a sun hat that makes him look like an explorer Grin it's boiling. It's nearly 24 here.

Steeley113 · 19/04/2018 10:57

Mines a lot younger but I’ve put her in a strappy vest, sleeveless sundress and a pair of frilly ankle socks.

MereDintofPandiculation · 19/04/2018 11:36

The general rule is one more layer than you. A dress and a vest or a dress and a cardigan will be fine. I don't think that applies when the temperature is high enough to tend to raise body temperature. Would you add an extra layer if your baby was indoors at 25deg, or even 22 deg?

Littlejayx · 19/04/2018 11:37

Not the best photo but flamingo hareems. I wish I had some In all fairness. I put a vest on her should I have not done??

I’m a first time mum with not many people to ask 😂

I'm so glad you made this thread I was wondering also .. my LO is 7 months and I'm also a first time mum .. I feel a little silly not really knowing

Bluecoatbunny · 19/04/2018 11:42

When mine were little I put them in a thin baby grow to cover all their skin so then sun did not burn them. I'm not sure if that was a good or bad thing to do.

BodgingThisMumThing · 19/04/2018 11:44

My sons in an armless legless onesie with no vest and a sun hat. He’s with my mum whilst I’m at work and I’m sure they’re out in the garden Grin

JustaLittlePrick · 19/04/2018 11:48

If it's hot the one more layer thing doesn't apply.

I'm still laughing at the poster with the armless legless onesie.
