I’m nearly 33 and since having my second child (he’s 3) my hormones have been out of whack, with this has come chin hair, it’s white blonde so i know it could be worse, would probably look like a beard if it was dark! Do you have chin hair? Is this normal for my age? Does anyone was their chin hair or will that pull at my skin too much and make me “jowly?” Would it make it grow back worse? Thanks

I plucked a grey wiry chin hair the other day! Was like a double insult! I’m only 35! I have lots of black hairs too an pluck every couple of days. I have pcos so blame my hormones

Still smiling at the idea of a collective assembly for this stuff in our mid 20s 😂

Ariela · 12/04/2018 10:24

I've dark hair and gone down the laser route. Have lost the 5 oclock shadow and skin is now very smooth and largely hairless. However I do have some thick white/grey hairs remaining the laser therapist says there is a different form of laser treatment they do for threadveins and a side effect of that is that it reduces hair even if the hair is fair/blonde/grey/white, she's going to try that on me next time.

juneybean · 12/04/2018 10:30

I pluck...sometimes I use an epilator but it's painful!

bananasandwicheseveryday · 12/04/2018 10:30

I've just looked at the lines - it doesn't work on white, red or blonde hair according to the Philips website. So, annoying as it is that it wouldn't be useful for me (around d 30% of mine are now grey/white), I suppose at least I won't be tempted to spend a huge amount of money on something that would be less and less effective for me.
I'll have to stick to my home wax treatment every few weeks with an occasional tweezers attack in between.

BluebellCockleshell123 · 12/04/2018 10:52

Mine are dark and wiry. I used to pluck them when they started growing (after the birth of my first child when I was 30).

Spent a fortune on Laser & IPL, but it didn't work for me - reckon mine are hormonal.

I'm 44 now and shave daily. It would be a full time job to pluck the buggers!

I have grown to live with it and my friends assure me that they have never noticed.

I think I will go for electrolysis when I have more time & money for clinic visits.

RabbityMcRabbit · 12/04/2018 10:54

Yes! Am 47 and have quite a bit. It's got worse over the last few years to the point where I have to pluck daily (it doesn't all grow at the same rate) and am seriously considering laser therapy

CrazedAndDonfused · 12/04/2018 10:58

I am 25 and I have had one, persistent chin hair which I first noticed at 21. Always worrying it will grow friends but I'm fairly fond of it now, generally pluck it when it's around 1cm long because I'm lazy

ILikeMyChickenFried · 12/04/2018 10:58

I have a weird little razor blade thing. I use it dry on my fave every week or so and shave the things off.

Headwobble · 12/04/2018 10:58

I don’t have a biological child so I can’t blame pregnancy hormones but yes, I have too many to pluck. Most are long blonde hairs but there are long brown/black ones.

I did wax but it made my skin raw. So, I now wax with the waxing beads. They don’t rip skin off, just the hairs. My skin recovers much quicker! You can buy a hot wax melter and beads on amazon for £25. I would love to do something permanent!

SerenDippitty · 12/04/2018 11:04

I also shave, just the chin hairs. Apparently Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe shaved the peach fuzz too. I don’t know why there is this belief that something terrible will happen if you shave your face.

LemonysSnicket · 12/04/2018 11:06

I’m 22, no chin hair as of yet - though mum has a spiny one so bound to happen- but my peach fuzzz has slowly darkened to a light brown, I was it every 2 weeks or my foundation gathers.

Women get facial hair, it happens. Only shaving will make it appear thicker / darker because it blunts the tip z

TheFrenchLieutenantsMonkey · 12/04/2018 11:07

I have PCOS and I have a patchy beard, kind of looks like a little goatee. I have a lumea which i keep.meaning to try. But i started going to a salon to getvit waxed. It was £4 a time. Lasted aboutb3 weeks first time then the interval.got.longer and not as much grew back.

IAmMatty · 12/04/2018 11:08

Yes, I use it everywhere, it's a flipping miracle! Grin

MargoLovebutter · 12/04/2018 11:13

I use my epilator on my chin hair. I am paranoid about growing a beard, so I just constantly rip the bastards out with the epilator.

user1490465531 · 12/04/2018 11:13

I have to pluck chin hairs every day and thread my mostache once a fortnight.
I also get long black wiry nipple hairs .
I'm 39.

Mari50 · 12/04/2018 11:15

Hunners of them- thick and black often.
I’ve instructed my dd that if I’m ever struck down with anything which results in me being in a coma like state she’s to visit me at least once a week just to pluck the hairs out of my chin

Threefaries · 12/04/2018 11:18

No chin hair here. It just got saggier with each child.

Ceirrno · 12/04/2018 12:29

Full on, dark, bearded lady here!

I used to pluck them for a minimum of twenty minutes a day. Recently I've been having laser treatment to remove them, it's mostly possible, not as expensive as you might think and does work on more colours than the older type of laser as my mum is having it too although she has far less and a far lighter colour.

GabriellaMontez · 12/04/2018 12:35

I had mine lasered a few years ago then top up with the lumea. Amazing. Not instant or permanent and most effective on dark hairs. Massively improved my skin which was always hairy and sore from waxing.

hjublen · 12/04/2018 12:37

I have used an epilator on my legs for years and now use it carefully on my face near my mouth every couple of weeks too. Sorts out the moustache and chin hairs and haven't drawn blood yet.

Jordan4531 · 12/04/2018 12:44

I get loads of big thick black ones on the side of my face and a few on my chin, honestly it's my biggest concern and I never have my hair behind my ears so people can't see the scars from trying to get rid as a teenager. I pluck now, occasionally shave because I found out the whole it coming back thicker was a myth. I hate it but you've just got to crack on I suppose

TinaTop · 12/04/2018 12:47

I was 27 when I got my first bristly chin hair. In my 30s another 3 or 4 appeared. I pluck them out with tweezers!

patstar · 12/04/2018 12:47

I'm 44 and upper lip hair and chin has been getting worse, tried plucking and threading. Plucking was fine and then you would get in the car and look in the mirror and Oh My God!!!!
Just bought the Flawless from JML and have got my none plucking life back!!

Cicera · 12/04/2018 12:59

I started getting some when I was 23!

I hate it so much. More than anything else about my body. I'm not particularly into appearance, and don't wear makeup, but it makes me feel old an ugly.

BoeandBall · 12/04/2018 14:02

I started getting chin hairs when I was 18 and I'm 20 now, it's so annoying because it's one massive thick black hair that grows back so fast! I get a moustache too which can get quite noticeable, I've heard it's not normal when you're young to get chin hairs thoughConfused
