We cannot allow #Syria’s use of chemical weapons. We also cannot allow an unhinged (or hinged) President to unilaterally take America to war. We can stop both. Go to Congress, @realDonaldTrump. Tell us length of time, # of troops, and terrain covered. Americans deserve a voice.

I can’t believe that war has literally broken out in the week I’ve been in hiding. Still haven’t hit twitter yet but I am terrified that we have stumbled on something that is ill thought out and acts as a handy distraction for everyone involved. Russia’s involvement with Syria has been documented on these threads and so whilst I’m not up to speed at all, it cannot be good news that it is in Syria that we are throwing ourselves into, not with the governments of the us and uk becoming increasingly illiberal and looking for a smoke screen for it.

Meant to be boarding the plane in a few hours and don’t want to at this point. What a fucking nightmare.

Back to London from Spain. Am still in bed (the flight isn’t for another 7 hours so might’ve stretched the definition of “a few hours”) but the prospect of returning to the uk is not an attractive one. Not that there are any alternatives for us!

I’ve also just seen (though I think it happened earlier this week) that the uk has decided that children brought here by immigrants who were invited to work in this country 50 years ago have been ruled to be illegal immigrants and are facing deportation. I know we’ve said that the uk will follow trump’s America but I didn’t expect for us to have our own dreamers. Genuinely horrified.

My relationship with time is alll skewiff though so wouldn’t pay any attention to me - dp has told me that the phone I’ve been timekeeping on this morning is on uk time so we have an hour less to complete airport shenanigans than I thought Shock
