To ask what your toddler ate today?

Hobnobsarenotfordunking · 09/04/2018 17:37

After a few days or barely eating anything today my 17 month old has eaten:

A banana
A bowl of shredded
A slice of toast
A rice tea biscuit
A lunchbox malt loaf
A goodies oaty bar
A hobnob
About 30 blueberries
3 satsumas
A tea-cake
1 small tin of beans
1 slice of toast
2 small yogurts

I am aware a lot of that list isn’t great for him- now he is eating well again I can readdress the balance and get more veggies and proper dinners in! He ate a full Sunday roast yesterday and plans have meant it needed to be a quick tea.

What have your toddlers had? I need inspiration for new ideas and to know that mine isn’t going to end up obese for eating everything he had today!

crazycatbaby · 09/04/2018 18:29

Nearly 18 month old has eaten
a slice of toast (small loaf size)
A weetabix with ff milk
6oz milk on the way to nursery as he only wakes up before we have to go and won't eat a proper meal
Half an apple
Handful of marmite rice cakes
Cheese wrap at nursery
Banana

He only seems to like "picky" food and doesn't really enjoy meat although I keep trying. I despair of what to give him sometimes!

Amanduh · 09/04/2018 18:30

My 16mo - half a crumpet
Threw raisins on the floor
A cheese stick
Threw a sandwich on the floor
A sausage
Threw potato on the floor
Threw peas and broccoli on the floor
An apple

Water all day
Milk at bedtime

Throwing is his new favourite 😂

MrsKoala · 09/04/2018 18:32

Notsohippy Flowers all my dc eat really well, then get to 2yo and self restrict to a ridiculous degree. I often read what has your 5yo eaten type threads and feel weepy. It really is soul destroying. My almost 6yo only eats dry bread and sausages and water, no fruit, no veg, no dairy.

I'm fully anticipating DD to do similar. Everyone says 'oooh at least you have ONE good eater and i do a hollow laugh. Try not to be so hard on yourself. You can't force them to eat unfortunately.

TooGood2BeFalse · 09/04/2018 18:35

My 3 year old devoured a huge bowl of Chili tonight, and then seconds.

I may pay for this tomorrow Shock

Almost 14mo DS was with my m whilst we were in work, and has had:

Porridge with blueberries & raspberries, half a slice of toast with peanut butter (ate all)

H/M chicken burgers, sweet potato chips, peas & sweet corn (ate most)
Some pineapple
Bit of chocolate Easter egg which my mum bribed him with to keep still whilst she changed his nappy Grin

Carrot cake oatbar

Home with us:
Couple of dried apple rings, first time trying them and seemed to enjoy them

Beans & cheese on toast
Banana
Yoghurt

Tried him with a small bit of my banana & custard but he spat it out as it wasn't yoghurt Hmm

He'll also have milk before bed.

TotHappy · 09/04/2018 18:42

23 month old:
Bowl of dry cheerios
Bowl of veg and pearl barely soup with about a quarter of a crusty roll crumbled in
Couple o f handfuls of cheese
Small Easter egg
Bowl of Greek yoghurt
Half a 5oz bottle of cows milk (full fat)
Bloody loads of breastmilk (well, who knows how much is coming out but she's been latched on for ages)
Has scorned most of her usual snacks, but asked firmly for sausage and eggs (neither of which we have). She's just gone it with daddy to get a Chinese so will hopefully eat a good bit of that!
Oh yes and she had a small slice of apple pie too. Mostly the pastry.

Narkle · 09/04/2018 18:46

1 1/2 year old here.

Morning:
1 bowl porridge (oats, milk)
1 small handful choco pillows

Snack:
banana

Lunch:
plate of tuna-pasta-tomato bake with sweetcorn
a piece of chocolate

Snack:
apple
malted milk biscuit

Dinner:
pasta with mushroom sauce

Water drank throughout, a bottle of milk before bed. Loves fruit and veg, but I buy seasonal veg fresh and the rest frozen, so variety is currently limited. Too much cocolate for my liking, but has so much of the stuff we're still munching through the Christmas stash.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 09/04/2018 18:54

3 in a couple of months

Breakfast- toast with honey (only had bread until tesco delivery at midday).

Lunch- half a ham & cucumber sandwhich, grapes, half an apple, 1/4 bag of skips, 1/2 mini roll.

Snack- banana & a yoghurt.

Dinner- hot chicken & salad (lettuce, spring onion, tomato & cucumber) wrap with sweet potato fries.

He'll have a large cup (8oz ish) of milk before bed.

He's a grazer as a rule but the older 3 are on holiday so he's fitting in with them.

spydie · 09/04/2018 19:00

2 and 2 months..

Breakfast - bowl of overnight oats made with whole milk

Snack - 1/2 small banana with a small cup of milk and a bit later a gingerbread man's head (wasn't intentional!)

Lunch - small bowl of homemade veg soup plus 1/2 tomato and some slices of cheese. Rest of banana.

Snack - egg and veg muffin thing

Dinner - slow cooker sausage and sweet potato casserole with broccoli and peas. Then a pear.

Water all day to drink.

mummabeargrr · 09/04/2018 19:08

2yrs 4 months

Breakfast
Yogurt

Snack
Some raisins

Lunch
4 Crackers
A Slice of Ham

Dinner
Some Peas

Milk

Today is a no eating day ....
Tomorrow she'll probably devour a small farms worth of vegetables, and 400 pints of yogurt, a vineyards full of raisins, a titanic size of rice cakes. But still refuse meat and potatoes 🙄

theobear · 09/04/2018 19:08

Breakfast
Oat cheerios with milk (child's-sized bowl)
Some blueberries
A couple of spoonfuls of my porridge

Mid-morning
A banana Soreen lunchbox loaf
A satsuma

Lunch
Scrambled eggs on one slice of toast - although not much egg
A banana
Some more blueberries
Some grapes
A small yoghurt (small Tesco Value fromage frais)
A child's handful of Pom Bears

Mid-afternoon
An Organix oaty bar

Dinner
Pasta with aubergine pesto (offered but refused chicken and roasted vegetables)
A small Ambrosia rice pudding
Some sultanas

He isn't very good with vegetables unless they are hidden - e.g. cottage pie, bolognese, curry, etc. He usually has a leftover portion of this sort of thing for lunch so he definitely eats some vegetables every day but I wasn't organised enough today. I think he eats too much fruit and not enough veg, but we're trying.

theobear · 09/04/2018 19:09

He is 19 months old.

Hoohoohelp · 09/04/2018 19:17

My 16 month had:
Wheatabix (1 and 1/2) with milk
Banana

Cheese toasty
Raisins
Bowl of natural yoghurt

Pasta pesto with peas and broccoli.

ChaosAndPiss · 09/04/2018 19:19

My 18 month old and almost 4 year old eat almost the same quantity of food. I think it's more that my 4 year old doesn't each much rather than the youngest eating lots but she is a gannet so she may be eating more than she should. I'm just glad she eats to be honest. The eldest was living off just peanut butter sandwiches up until 3 😩

Breakfast
2 slices white toast with butter

Lunch (picnic)
2 breadsticks
Peanut butter sandwich
Half bag Pom bears
5 grapes
Small handful blueberries
Bit of cucumber which neither ate 🙄

Tea
2 breadsticks
Big Handful plain pasta
3 meatballs
Cheese (youngest left the cheese)

Eldest had a jelly and youngest had a plain Greek Yogurt.

Both had a cup of ff milk before bed.

They're both super fussy with veg so didn't really have any today because I didn't have the energy to bother.

foxessocks · 09/04/2018 19:20

19 month old
2 Weetabix
1.5 biscuits
Packet of wotsits
Half a banana
Beans on toast
Some Easter chocolate
Chicken mash potatoes brocolli
Yogurt

Lots of milk to drink

Not the best day either tbf!

I find toddler appetites go up and down constantly and some days he has a brilliant diet , great range of food etc. Other days not so much. My 4 yo is still fairly similar but at least I can negotiate with her better!

Youvegotafriendinme · 09/04/2018 19:23

16 month old.

1 shredded wheat

2 very large strawberries
Half a large pear
2 mini ginger bread men

Peas (thrown on the floor)
New potato’s (crushed and rubbed into the table
