To think DBrother is unreasonable to stop anyone else coming in?

We've planned a family evening out. We all live miles apart now so it's rare we're all together.

There's a film I want to see soon and he's adamant he doesn't want anyone else in there whilst we (a family of 5ish), watch it.

So he's said he will be buying out all the seats so only we can see it Shock I know him well and I know he isn't having us on.

Isn't this unreasonable? It's a new film so there will be quite a few people wanting to see it.

I would bet he will actually have to speak to the cinema to book the whole theatre - the online system prob won't allow it for over a certain number of seats - and then it will cost more than the face value of all the seat tickets because, as pp have said, the cinema will count on making money from snacks and drinks too. But just let him and his ego deal with that. I would not take any interest.

I used to work at a cinema box office (of a big chain) and Roman Keating used to try and do this regularly. He'd phone up pretending to be his assistant and ask to book out a whole screen.

We would've done it but he'd always phone up just an hour or so before....as we'd already sold tickets to that showing we couldn't do it.

Then he'd come along anyway.

Every. Single. Time. Confused

Ronan! Not Roman! Blush

SandAndSea · 06/04/2018 15:58

I know it's extravagant but OP, what's the problem? Why not just enjoy the abundance of it?

Butterymuffin · 06/04/2018 16:03

Grin at the Ronan K story. I suppose life is a rollercoaster.

BlancheM · 06/04/2018 16:19

Why though? I don't get it :/
How controlling do you have to be to want to block anyone else seeing a film/not want to be in a public space with other people?

Hedwig86 · 06/04/2018 16:27

I’d be too embarrassed to turn up for that.

Ronan K must truly be an arsehole as that's not even the worst first hand experience story about him posted on here.

Lest we forget he was once punched by a Mumsnetters Mum after he cruelly mocked and tricked her Shock the story is still around somewhere

ApocalypseNowt · 06/04/2018 18:02

Yes he is a divvy. Always spent ages faffing about in his wallet before ones of his mates would exasperatedly hand over the dosh for him. Shock

GabsAlot · 06/04/2018 18:37

what an arsehole

ronan not op's db

ApocalypseNowt · 06/04/2018 20:22

Maybe OP's db is Ronan..... Shock

Pfftlife · 06/04/2018 20:28

Sounds like great fun! Don't forget to run to the supermarket for your popcorn before you go in 😂

That Ronan Keating story made me laugh what an idiot Grin
