Posting for traffic.

I have thick hair and it gets greasy quite quickly after washing. What shampoo can you recommend to make your hair shine and smell good?

I switch between tresemme and bed head colour goddess which smells like caramel and is utterly amazing. I find if I use the same shampoo for more than one bottle it stops working for me so I alternate.

I have greasy hair, so I use Tesco Value shampoo twice (50p a litre) to clean my hair, then a nice shampoo or body wash for shine and scent. My favourite is Pantene for condition, and Orange Tree Amber and Vanilla hand wash for scent.

Some new L'Oréal Elvive Low Shampoo, it doesn't foam up but removes grease and doesn't dry my hair out. It's a revelation!

NinkyNonk1 · 04/04/2018 21:30

@UpstartCrow I've never heard of hand wash being used on hair!

I really like Palmers coconut shampoo and conditioner. Wards the grease off for linger than usual.

TrackerBar · 04/04/2018 21:32

My hair is really fine and annoying. It's also quite dehydrated but I have to wash it every day as it gets greasy. Confused

I love Umberto Giannini Beach Wash Coconut Oil Shampoo. It seems to suit my hair and smells divine.

KC225 · 04/04/2018 21:32

Head and shoulders citrus. Tresemme conditioner

DBoo · 04/04/2018 21:33

L'Oréal expertise it smells amazing.

UpstartCrow · 04/04/2018 21:33

I ran out of shampoo one day and it was all I had. My hair can't tell the difference. And I love the scent Smile

Mariaaaaa · 04/04/2018 21:34

I'm a slave to Aussi Mega

I do the odd wash with Vosene so my hair doesn't get too "used" to the Aussi Mega

NinkyNonk1 · 04/04/2018 21:34

I also suffer from flaky scalp but using paraben free hasn't made a difference, nor has shampoo prescribe by doctors

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Rich Radiance shampoo and conditioner. My hair is very thick and very slightly dry but these products are great on it.

Twilight456 · 04/04/2018 21:45

Try Palmers coconut oil or olive oil shampoo+conditioner. Also Sukin range is brilliantly moisturizing but not heavy. I have thick hair but fine strands and wash my hair every 3/4 days, sometimes use a bit of dry shampoo but it doesn't get too greasy. Don't use water that's boiling hot, mildy warm is best and finish with a cold rinse, and when shampooing don't rub it in circles on your hair, get your fingers right on your scalp in firm back and forth motion. Sounds obvious but rinse it really well because i often do friends hair who also have thick hair and theres often a sheeny feel to it where they've not rinsed it thoroughly.

JellicleCat · 04/04/2018 21:54

Honey I Washed My Hair shampoo bar from Lush. Lasts for absolutely ages, mild but gets rid of the grease.

chocolatespiders · 04/04/2018 21:56

I love juicy from lush!

Snoopyokay · 04/04/2018 22:00

I have to change mine all the time as my hair gets used to the shampoo and doesn't wash properly

LaurieMarlow · 04/04/2018 22:03

Shampure from Aveda is lovely.

zubaspal · 04/04/2018 22:06

I'm currently using mane and tail shampoo and conditioner (yes its horse shampoo) its great.
My hair feels fuller and stronger, tried it after being recommended by a client and it's working.

annandale · 04/04/2018 22:08

Aussie moist or a nice cheapie from the local pharmacy called 'faith in nature'.

Glug44 · 04/04/2018 22:10

Coconut or Castor oil before shampooing should sort out the dryness. No need for conditioner afterwards either.

TooManyPaws · 04/04/2018 22:11

Neal's Yard Rose shampoo and conditioner. Smells wonderful and really cleans my fine hair without weighing down my fine but thick hair.

DragonsAndCakes · 04/04/2018 22:12

Have you tried SLS free too? I’ve like the Avalon, Jason and Aubrey Organics ones from this list
www.gentlebubbles.com/buy-phthalate-free-products/sulfate-paraben-phthalate-free-shampoo/

And I had the flakiest ever scalp. Failing that, Selsun.

Roominmyhouse · 04/04/2018 22:14

Currently using Tigi Catwalk Oatmeal and honey. Smells amazing. I have fine hair which can get greasy, it’s moisturising without being too heavy.

NeonPink · 04/04/2018 22:15

I have long thick hair which gets greasy quickly and I can only go one day without washing it. I have used all the different brands going but I finally found one which I liked last year which I have stuck to... Tresseme! Especially the conditioner !

ChiefSpoon · 04/04/2018 22:16

Lush bars
