To think this is too long a wait (NHS)

Two weeks ago I noticed blood in my urine, and it just got worse so now whenever I pee, it's the colour of red wine.

I saw my GP straight away, who referred me to a Urologist.

The appointment isn't until late April...

The referral was made mid March.

It's suppose to be urgent?

AIBU to be worried and think this is a long wait?

I have 0 other symptoms, no pain when peeing, no stinging. Just joint pain

^*Haematuria in an otherwise well

swingofthings, I suggest you reread the BAUS guidelines on macroscopic haematuria - they don’t say what you think they do. The guidelines are here.

The relevant bit is the bit under bladder cancer guidance which points out very clearly how and why the guidelines have been updated to reflect the fact that under 45s don’t require a 2ww referral due to PPVs of 0.99 for men < 45 and 0.22 of women < 45.

In short, you’re talking ill-informed bollocks. Sadly all too common on MN.
