They are cool those two. write some interesting lyrics and do great covers.
The power ballad was huge in the 80s - you dont get that many these days.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 01/04/2018 09:09

Temptation - Heaven 17

AnnDerry · 01/04/2018 09:10

Impossible to choose - I was a teen in the 80s and so I love literally thousands of 80s songs.

However, if absolutely pushed:

Big Country - Fields of Fire (still get teary when I think of what it sounds like sung by about 10,000 people in an arena)

Honourable mentions:
Pet Shop Boys - Rent (sad, cynical and beautifully ambiguous)
Kool and the Gang - Celebration (floor filler)
Jackson 5 - Can you feel it (floor filler)
Nelcy Sedibe - Holotelani (joyful and reminds me of the AA campaigns of my youth)
Fairground Attraction: Moon on the Rain (first year of university)

Just Can’t Get Enough Depeche Mode. What a perfect pop song! It just sums up the excitement of being young and the emergence of electronic music. I still get a thrill when I hear it!

mammmamia · 01/04/2018 09:23
