To think our national anthem is shit

Just watching the Anthony Joshua fight and he's fighting someone from New Zealand.
Their national anthem is mightily long. However, ours is just awful imo
I'm neither a royalist nor anti. Indifferent.

I just think our national anthem could be so much better!

Amanduh Flower of Scotland is what I consider my national anthem. So yes, I like it.

I’m Welsh and I love ours! It makes me smile whenever I sing it 😊. I do like it when countries have an upbeat anthem. It’s supposed to be the song of the people, something to unite them, it should be uplifting!

I'm welsh and love our anthem, it's about history / the land etc.
I like the majority of anthems tbh but Flower of Scotland is one of my other favourites (alongside the Italian one).

I really don't like God Save The Queen and feel a bit sorry for the English having to sing it at sporting events when it has nothing to do with their country.

I also don't understand how it's considered the English and British anthem - there are a lot of good things about England and plenty of songs about them which could become the English anthem.

Parker's national anthem was long because he had two of them, NZ and Samoa. If we're double-barrelling national anthems these days I'm having Paradise City after God Save the Queen on New year's eve

I love singing our Welsh one too! The words are great " This land of my fathers is dear to me", - it's a link to the people, not a fan letter to royalty.

That said, I also like the Russian one, just for the musicality.

Yanbu we don't really have a "national anthem" - we have a pro-royalist dirge which is nothing to do with our nation.

I feel quite sorry for the English having dreary old god save the Queen.

I'm Scottish and I love flower of Scotland, I remember being at a Scotland football game when I was about 8 and feeling really emotional when the crowd started singing! Although I love all the Scottish songs, Scotland the brave, Caledonia, highland cathedral and even the proclaimers!! 😂😂

I totally agree that our national anthem needs to have something better done. I love the idea of Jerusalem but that won't happen.

I haven't heard the Billy Connolly version of GSTQ but his rendition of the Archers music is great.

I'm American and I think ours is okay, but it is hard to sing and a bit militaristic. I would much prefer America the Beautiful.

My favorite national anthem is the one from the Netherlands. I really like the music. I think it may be the oldest national anthem in the world, as well.

I'm another Welshie that loves ours.

In a pub before the rugby - the whole place will stand and sing with gusto, it gives me goosebumps.

Another vote for Land of Hope and Glory :) I’m an out-and-out royalist, but not a fan of our national anthem at all. My favourite national anthem is definitely La Marseillaise, hands-down!!

I like the France anthem. Mind you I don't know what they are saying, could be rude for all I know. Italian one is good too.
