Just to see what they say….

Shameful

Funny that I’ve never watched this program but compelled to watch it tonight!

uncoolnn · 31/03/2018 19:21

Aww god I love dec. Really felt for him at the beginning Sad

BeckettsandChapel · 31/03/2018 19:22

how are they going to do the honoured segment? wont it have ant in and make it obvious he isnt there?

ButterflyOfFreedom · 31/03/2018 19:23

Aw, I love Dec! He'll do just fine- I imagine (hope) the majority of (decent) people want him to do well; I've always thought he seemed a really nice, down to earth guy and I really feel for him.

TheSpottedZebra · 31/03/2018 19:23

I'm watching for the 1st time too. But tbf, there is sod all else on.

I'm also agog at (management company) James Grant Media's stranglehold of itv. As well as ant and Dec, and Stephen Mulhern and Scarlet Moffatt, they also have Davina and the Speakmans - both on tonight. And the whole of the This Morning 'talent' too -philip and Holly, ruth anf Eamonn, Ryan, Rochelle and Marvin... Paddy McG and that Avid Merrion one. Hmmmmmm.

MissMary0fSweden · 31/03/2018 19:24

Bloody accommodating of Diane to have heart issues a couple of weeks ago, thus delaying the surprise Grin

I think Dec is doing just fine. Rueful smile and a bit wobbly at the beginning when the audience were going wild but gathered himself quickly.

Great call having Stephen Marchant tonight, a reality 'presenter' or c lister might have bombed.

fairylightsdown · 31/03/2018 19:24

Can't stand Davina. Dec is doing great; it must be strange for him not having Ant by his side. He still seems a bit nervous but i think he'll be fine

SinglePringle · 31/03/2018 19:27

The applause off the back of Paloma was all for him. Huge warmth (and an electric atmosphere) in that studio. He looked visibly nervous at the top of the stairs and choked at the reaction. He did an amazing job of holding it together.

I’ve been in that studio (professionally) and it’s an immense atmosphere on a ‘normal’ night. Christ knows how he was feeling - it must have seemed overwhelming. He’s NEVER performed live on telly without Ant.

He’ll have had a huge amount of support today. Agent, Manager (wife!), people he trusts. It will have all been about keeping him together, because they genuinely care about him. And it’s worked.

Caggie09 · 31/03/2018 19:27

Think Ant will be tuning in this evening?

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 31/03/2018 19:28

That was quite a good comment; and it seemed a genuine smile.

This must be hard, I'm pleased he's doing well. I don't usually watch but I've got it on to support him (somehow?!)

Yogafailure · 31/03/2018 19:29

I haven't watched this series but I'm watching tonight. I'm glad Dec got a huge round of applause when he got onto the stage

SinglePringle · 31/03/2018 19:29

Spotted it’s not that Machiavellian - agents specialise in a field. There’s agents that handle comedians, reality stars, actors, presenters. James Grant happen to specialise in the latter and ITV tend to have a lot of presenter led shows.

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 31/03/2018 19:31

Thought it was gonna be awkward but doing okay so far, although it is weird not seeing both of them doing it together. I love davina..... 😊

user1472333009 · 31/03/2018 19:33

First time I've watched it this year. I bet the ratings are through the roof for this episode. Poor Dec he looked so nervous but he's doing a great job. So strange without Ant.

Mummyoflittledragon · 31/03/2018 19:34

Just tuned in to see people getting “a place on the plane”. I remember watching stuff like that when I was a kid. Didn’t realise it was still on. I do wish Dec well though. Just because it’s not my cup of tea, I don’t want him to fail.

Whatififall · 31/03/2018 19:35

He seemed so nervous at the start but settled in well. It must be so weird as he has never performed without Ant.

MissionItsPossible · 31/03/2018 19:36

I hate Stephen Maloney whatever his name is.

Sparklingbrook · 31/03/2018 19:37

Stephen Mulhern

Botsbotsbots · 31/03/2018 19:37

Place on the plane just made me actually well up 😬

Yarboosucks · 31/03/2018 19:39

Right, that is my curiosity satisfied… Migraine inducing TV. Serves me right

OP posts:
OyO · 31/03/2018 19:39

I love Mulhern! He should stick around, Dec seems much more at ease having someone there to bounce off of.

Twogoround · 31/03/2018 19:39

Turn it on .
The two of them make every programme do they funny . But dec on his own is just presenter and they are ten a penny. Time for some new talent to come though.
They have earn enough money time go now .

Sparklingbrook · 31/03/2018 19:40

Stephen Merchant makes me laugh. I loved him in TBBT.

Gemini69 · 31/03/2018 19:40

LOVING Stephen Mulhern .. he's so lovely Flowers

user1472333009 · 31/03/2018 19:41

The Speakmans are amazing! That woman was terrified of flying, crying her eyes out looking at the aeroplane. 1 hour later after some therapy a few cuppas, a packet of hobnobs & she's happy as a pig in shit flying through the air. I wonder if the hobnobs were laced with something?
