Why do good things happen to bad people?

Just that really. I'm thinking about a few people who really screwed me over and are having lovely lives with no consequences for what they did. People talk about karma and so on but it doesn't seem to ever happen. AIBU to expect a comeuppance?

Karma is for lazy people.
If you want "revenge" and it's worth the time and effort to get it then do it. If it's not worth it,move on.
But either way, waiting for karma, poetic justice, God's wrath and whatever other nonsense is silly and pointless.

@RebelRogue
Very true and 99.9 times in a 100 it’s better just to let it go.
Revenge very rarely works, it takes a bit of your soul with it.

Blackbirdblue30 · 31/03/2018 17:25

When you're left picking up the pieces after someone else's shitty actions and they get to go off having a nice time without even feeling guilty about what they've done. That. That cuts.

Of course it does...but wishing for karma or what goes around comes around is just wishing for revenge, without putting the work in.
It's not worth it...even if said person was in an absolutely shit situation ,it wouldn't change yours,it wouldn't heal the pain, it wouldn't make you feel better.

Mightymucks · 31/03/2018 17:58

I have to say if someone starts going out actively intending to ‘avenge’ something then they’re probably in the ‘bad person’ category anyway.

sameoldsame · 31/03/2018 19:22

I agree
The only people who have made someone else’s life hell for revenge are just fundamentally not good people

LemonysSnicket · 01/04/2018 00:20

Maybe even worse things have happened to them in their life? Can you really call people bad people ( excepting rapists and murderers etc)

ThisIsTheFirstStep · 01/04/2018 00:34

But OP you never know what is happening in someone’s head. I know that spme people who have fucked me over appear to have a lovely life but I also know they’re not that happy.

I’m sure there are also people who might call me a bad person - I can think of a couple of people at least who definitely think I was ‘disloyal’ or something. They are probably wishing karmic retribution on me.

It’s never that simple. People do good things and bad things. If we think of ourselves as some eternal victim, we will always be upset and vengeful.

The best thing is just to let go of those people and tread lightly. The more headspace you give them, the more you’re hurting yourself.

LOL Elendon

Another one saying karma is a load of hokum. It only exists in YouTube videos and some ranty Facebook memes but otherwise is wishful thinking pure and simple
