I've found out what hell is is and it's your kid wanting to play pretend ALL the time

Dd is 2yr5m, is very outgoing and sociable and has never been able to entertain herself but I've kind of accepted this now, but her latest thing is playing pretend and it's ALL she wants to do.
Shall we play bricks? No, be the mermaid!
Shall we do some drawing? No mummy be the mermaid!
How about some puzzles? BE THE MERMAID

Oh god, I mean I actually don't mind doing a bit of role play but it's definitely the most draining and pre 9am and after being up in the night with her little brother it's really hard to throw myself into the acting required to BE THE MERMAID.

“You be the ghost and I’ll be Pac-Man” Always involves running.

Ds is 3 and obsessed with little red riding hood. I'm spending a lot of my day being Little red riding hood whilst a mini big bad wolf chases me about.

When he's not a little big bad wolf, he's a doctor. I'm pregnant and my df died in hospital last month so he's seen plenty to study recently. Favourite elements include listening to baby with his stethoscope, taking my temperature and threatening to eat me if I don't take my medicine (Yep, it's Dr big bad wolf).

Feels like the Easter holidays are going very slowly.

JeSuisPrest Yes, yes, yes!

I actually like pretend play, but the repetition, OMG the repetition. Mummy, be a talking fire! Mummy be a shark and I'll be the shark police over and over again.

Right now, he's a tree being chopped down and I'll turn him into a table as he got a load of tools.

My daughter has been Andy from “Andy’s dinosaur adventures” for about 2 months now. I have to be “Jen”, which when out and about sounds like I am her childminder. But my poor DH has to be “Mrs pickles” which cracks me up every time!!!

I wish my dc wanted me to be a mermaid. I would just lie on the sofa trying to look pretty Grin I'm usually told to be a pony which involves crawling round on all fours with one or two children on my back, or a flying beast which involves me flapping my arms manically and screeching Hmm
