Killerqueen2244, I think last year a little girl chocked on an egg with a hard shell so that's probably why the softer layer has been introduced. Apparently, the crunchy layer didn't melt and for that reason obstructed the airways for too long. Had it been a softer layer it would just melt and go down.

They're a great sugary fix for only 150 ish cals so always my go to choc when on a diet (Curly Wurly, you can take a hike).

However, the chocolate used to be thicker, more substantial.

I too have fond memories of toffee and mallow eggs! Were there peppermint creme eggs?
