Seriously. All. The. Fucking. Time. Work colleagues, friends, family, strangers.
“When are you due?”
“8 weeks”
“OMG you’re massive/no way/ doesn’t look like it/you look ready to drop now etc etc”

Also had many people just say to me how massive I am as the first thing they say when they see me. No hello.

When did this become ok? Why are pregnant women meant to smile and laugh indulgently and say “I know”. Why does it not occur to people that I’m aware I have a large belly as there is a fucking human growing inside. And why can it not occur to people that I might not like having a giant, uncomfortable belly, am worried about how big it’s actually going to get and the damage it will wreak on me, and that they should keep their fucking opinions to themselves. Rude cunts. Argghhhhhhh.

I despised comments on the size of me when I was pregnant. And for the poster who said it was ok to comment on what was obvious, no, it really isn't. You have no idea what body issues a person is dealing with during pregnancy so the appropriate thing to say if you must say something is "you look great."

The one that really got me was people who would comment as though I wasn't there. "She's very small" "She definitely hasn't dropped yet." Because of course they knew better than my doctor who was telling me the baby was well dropped.

OP what about saying 'I'm a week overdue actually', then clutching your bump in an overly dramatic manner and gasping as if you were going into labour? I bet they'd make themselves scarce sharpish Grin

People feel like they must say something and generally have no idea what to say. I've had people tell me "you're big" and "you're small" in quick succession. It's better to keep to the old "you'll have your hands full" platitudes really.
