I live opposite a football stadium. Purpose built flat. When there’s a match, people always use our shared drive. They can be fined but the private company (not council) who issue the penalties are never here.

I don’t care too much if the odd car nicks a space for a match but what pisses me off is when a brand new Audi or BMW (same culprits I think) take up two spaces, leaving residents with no where to park.
Or today there was a merc parked out there and they filled a bag with rubbish from their car and chucked it on our shared front lawn.
One of the neighbours picked it up and taped it to the windscreen. When the match was over i took a picture of them take it off and throw it back on the lawn. Arseholes.
Then they flipped me the bird as they drove away.

I’ve got their faces and number plates and photos of them throwing the rubbish away.

Will the police care at all about this? Is it too petty? I just hate rich aresholes who think they own the world.
Last week a brand new BMW pulled off their fine (opposite, council owned) and threw it into our front lawn.

It just really fucks me off.

Should I just get over it and drink some wine instead?

Oddish was going to ask the same question.

HolyShet · 24/03/2018 18:24

Aye, block them in. Park up really tight either side of them so they can't ram
And also report them to police and club.

HolyShet · 24/03/2018 18:25

Oddish, people who drive new fancy cars can afford to pay for parking.

Andrewofgg · 24/03/2018 18:30

Move your car before the match.

Block them in during the match.

Leaved a note in your windscreen saying As you have parked on my drive I have nowhere to park but here. Back later.

And let them stew until well after the match ends.

Flomper · 24/03/2018 18:33

I think send the photos etc to the twitter account of whatever football club it is. They won't want the bad publicity and make help you out.

SimonBridges · 24/03/2018 18:35

Report it to the club.

Can you get the picture you took enlarged and turned into a poster saying something like ‘this guy is a twat’ or ‘this guy supports (opposing team)’ and post it along the route that most people take to the stadium.

AGirlCalledJohnny · 24/03/2018 18:35

Agree with Flomper tweet & shame! Jerks

DeathStare · 24/03/2018 18:37

Could you put a chain across the entrance on matchdays? You could secure it with a padlock which uses a code and all residents could have the code

JustVent · 24/03/2018 18:39

A chain isn’t a bad idea.

Lipstick on the windscreen. Damn I wish I’d thought of that before!!! Can’t chuck that on the floor so easily, hey?

Rub Vaseline or any other greasy liquid over their windscreens Grin

YellowBucket · 24/03/2018 18:43

I’d try reporting them, or getting the football club/local newspaper involved. Failing that you could post the pictures on a name and shame style Facebook page. There’s a Parking Like a Twat page for most towns.

Is there anyway you can block them in and go out if they do it again?

I do sympathise. We live near a school and people have been chancing parking in our drive lately. Apparently “it wasn’t being used” is a valid excuse for it.

FlouncyDoves · 24/03/2018 18:44

Drink some wine then smash the glass under their wheels. ‘Bloody football fans’ can be your reply if you’re called on it

Orangecake123 · 24/03/2018 18:47

Report.

Get those temporary parking bollards?

Scabetty · 24/03/2018 18:50

Squeezy bottle of honey and contents of hoover bag over the windscreen.

TheBrilliantMistake · 24/03/2018 18:52

Report them.

Incidentally, you can rent out your parking space to people to at least make a bit of money from it (and often help fans who struggle to find spaces).

Dumping rubbish is even more abhorrent. It's effectively fly-tipping.

Do the police have better things to deal with? absolutely they do, but that's not because of you, but because of offenders like this.

TheBrilliantMistake · 24/03/2018 18:53

Squeezy bottle of honey and contents of hoover bag over the windscreen.

Whilst I think this was said in jest, do NOT do anything remotely like this. You can end up in far more trouble than them, and massively out of pocket in the process.

Daifuku9 · 24/03/2018 18:57

Get these.

cycledad · 24/03/2018 19:01

Letting tyres down is technically vandalism, but first check there is no cctv, put washing up gloves on, take a box of matches, undo the dust caps ( the black things that twist off) put a match into the valve and get it it stick so the air continues to escape when you take your hand away, do this on each tyre, go and watch and laugh when idiots return.

AuntFidgetWonkhamStrongNajork · 24/03/2018 19:02

Photos of them on the stadium's twitter feed. And on their football club's feed.

Find out who your local councillor is. Fond out who wants to be your local councillor. Spam them too.

Ask your neighbours to do the same. After all, you could make a lovely profit renting your spaces if you wanted strangers to use them! Get the parking company on it - send them a fixtures list.

And organise your neighbours to block the entrance on match days.

TheBrilliantMistake · 24/03/2018 19:03

Do NOT touch their cars and certainly do not mess with their tyre pressures. It might be tempting, but it's a dangerous thing to do, and could lead to huge trouble if they had an accident.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 24/03/2018 19:08

Wouldn't it be a shame if you had a carpenter working outside your home the day before a match and they carelessly left some nails and tacks scattered around the driveway.

rach01pink · 24/03/2018 19:10

I think the relevance of the posh car is that they can afford to park in a paid parking place... Personally I would block them in and just inconvenience them for a few hours...go out shopping or something. They won't park there again in a hurry. Doubt they will ram your car as that's a very serious criminal offence

LilQueenie · 24/03/2018 19:13

can you not video it take pictures and report the licence plates to the police.
