To think that shouting at me to keep that bloody child quiet as he has to work tomorrow an unreasonable response to me and child being covered in child's vomit

So, gone back to do some teacher training and as usual the kids get sick as soon as I start. DH is looking after the kids whilst I'm teaching and is also working shifts. His response to the baby being sick in the night is to shout at me to shut her up grrrrh

OMG I would be seriously pissed off with him. I'd tell him from now on he can sleep on the sofa or in the car till he stops being complete bleep bleep bleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very unreasonable.
DH said something similar once and I said, "If you have a way of magically shutting her up be my guest", To which he replied "Just stick her on the boob will you." To which I replied, she's already had that and it's all very well for you that way isn't it you selfish prick.
Or something along those lines. Can't remember the exact wording as was very tired at the time

When my friends ds was very small he screamed and screamed sometimes at night. He was a very hungry baby. Her neighbour banged on the wall, and she took a bat to it banging back and screamed, "Do you think I want him screaming his head off either"
She never heard them bang again

I thought you were going to say that it was a neighbour!! Hmm - dh defo gets all D&V jobs from now on. I remember the one laugh I had in approx 2 months of newborn ds (ist child) was when dh was putting on sudocrem VERY CAREFULLY and ds farted it all over his face......I was v stressed but it gave me a good belly laugh - dh not so amused! I do have to point out though that dh is a fab dh and father and would, in the same vomiting circs, be in the shower with child, trying to make them laugh...he's lovely.

I would have removed my sick covered clothes and sick covered baby and plonked them both on DH whilst declaring what a selfish sod he was and then say baby is all his for the rest of the night and go in to spare room. But DH has not done this yet, so fortunately I can only get wound up on your behalf!

Dealing with sick is a two parent jobin this house - one deals with the clothes/bedding the other with the child....I'd have been seriously peed off.....

Do not let him get away with that mh. If my dh had said that to me, he only would have said it once, believe me!

Have you spokent o him yet? Sick is definately a 2 person job if there are 2 pairs of hands why deal with it using 1 pair?

OMG, how did you manage not to kill him?

I'd have lobbed the sick covered clothes and bedding in his direction and told him to sort it out.

DS2 chucked up badly a while back.
DH1 cleaned DS2, I got the clean bedding and new DP put the bedding in the wash.

That's what you do.

Like others, sick has always been a two man operation so far. Not now obviously, but in the past there would be one dealing with the mess (usually me as it doesn't make me gag) and another dealing with the child.

You husband is clearly a bit of a tosser on this score.

I had both my boys with a bug and nasty coming out of both ends and my washing machine broke down .
It was also the weekend of my conformation and DH and boys missed it and MIL had to take a bag of bed lining home with her to wash

To be fair he is very good when dd1 is sick at night. He doesn't clean up the sick but he does tend to her and gives cuddles so can't really complain too much.

Yes, he is being unreasonable. It is part of being a good parent. Has he dealt with a child being sick before.

I have to say Dh has always been good when dd has been sick in the night he deals with stripping her of in the bath and cooling her down while sort out her bed.

Although having said that he has had to deal with her when she was ill last month, as i am 5mths pregnant and cannot deal with any sickness so he has had to deal with sorting her out and room and me .

Outrageous! but i know how tiredness can make people. DP and i bitch and snipe at each other so much now simply because we are exhausted (20m dd still not sleeping through). Did he actually use those words? Shut her up? if he were my DP, he would be dead!
