I volunteer for a hospital radio station, and have recently started presenting a show with another volunteer.
We co-present his show, and I then present an hour of his show on my own - so the hour-long show is basically a mini-show of my own.
He’s asked me to think of a name for my own show, and I’m a bit stuck, to be honest!
I’ve thought of a few names, and I’m not totally happy with them yet. I’m also unsure about the names I could have for the three features I’m doing for the show.
Could you help, please?
To give a bit of background about my show, I play a few songs (around ten or so) and talk a bit why I chose them. Usually, they’re songs that I just enjoy listening to.
For the show name, the co-presenter has suggested The French Hour and I’ve thought of Something for the Oui-Kend (it’s a weekend radio show, and this gives it a bit of a French theme, but it’s a bit lame!!)
I also have three features in the show, all linked with a French theme.
For one of the features, I play two French songs (one old-ish French song, one modern French song). A name that I‘ve thought of for this feature is Paris Calling (a play on words of the song London Calling by The Clash, as it’s a radio show with French songs).
The other feature I’m doing is a French-themed quiz. I’ll ask a question related to France or French-speaking countries, and give listeners time to think of an answer and to Tweet in or email their answers, and then I’ll tell them the answer afterwards.
The final feature is where I’ll talk about a French film that I’ve seen recently and review it for the listeners. I would also include some French cultural news in there if anything had happened that week. Maybe I could call it ‘Flicks from France’ or ‘Cinema Saturday’ or something along those lines?
Do you have any suggestions for possible names for the show and the three features please?
Thanks :)
