To think that the hospital have treated me poorly?

I was meant to have an appointment at EAPU today due to bleeding and stabbing pain on my left hand side. I wasn't able to make my appointment due to my train being cancelled (I live an hour away from the EAPU and only have hourly trains). I phoned them and apologised and they were absolutely fine and told me they have no scans later but I really need to be seen. They were worried about ectopic and miscarriage as I have had 2 before. They advised I call 111 who can book me an appointment. 111 told me to attend my closet hospital which is 40 mins away. I did just this and explained the issue to their primary care unit. They said no worries, I'll book you in and we will get a scan sorted. 4 hours of waiting later, I saw the doc and he said 'so you've just come here to get a scan? That's it?' . He then proceeded to call the unit which does the scans and told them that I 'didn't bother turning up for my appointment' at which point I heard them on the other line say 'well she didn't need it that badly then did she'. So here I am, after 2 miscarriages, terrified, feeling small, feeling guilty for missing my train Ben though it was out of my hands, with no advice, no scan booked, EAPU telling me to go back to doctors. AIBU to think that I deserve better than this?

Hope everything went ok Arizona x

Thinking of you Arizona. Everything crossed.

The way you were treated was awful. I've made a successful complaint about my treatment before - believe me, it's not easy. What helped me was making notes of timings - which dr, what time did they call the unit etc. So even if you don't know the name of person at the other end of the phone, they know who was on shift. You would be absolutely right to complain, you were treated terribly.

notapizzaeater · 21/03/2018 08:35

Fingers crossed for you

ArizonaLeone · 21/03/2018 08:47

Thank you @Brummiecahhh - my complaint is already with PALS!

@mrsm12 apt is at 10:30, we'll see!

Thank you @notapizzaeater

Glad you complained.

IHateYourCarpet · 21/03/2018 09:35

Is anyone going with you? Please don't forget, Mumsnet is a fantastic source of support. Either way, you've got hundreds of people here for you Smile as corny as that sounds.

ArizonaLeone · 21/03/2018 09:47

@IHateYourCarpet I'm on my own but I don't mind. DP would be here but he's working away. I'm going to call him straight after the scan. He feels awful that he's not here bless him but I understand that he wouldn't have worked away if he'd have known. Hindsight is a great thing...

Not corny at all. It's a really good source of comfort! Thank you all so much.

How are you op? Hope it went ok.

ArizonaLione · 21/03/2018 13:16

@Stormwhale for some reason my MN account isn't letting me log on. Says password is wrong and not receiving anything when I request new password. Hope I haven't lost my account forever! (Hence the new account)

Anyway... peanut is just fine! Bleeding is normal and pain is from a cyst on my ovary! Absolutely over the moon! Cried my eyes out when I saw the little heartbeat. Measures 1 day older than we thought. So, so happy. Thanks everyone x

Stormwhale · 21/03/2018 13:20

Fantastic news op!!
So pleased for you!!

IHateYourCarpet · 21/03/2018 13:29

Oh Arizona! I'm so happy for you!

With my cyst, I had another HUGE bleed about a week after when it burst. So don't panic if the bleeding suddenly gets heavier Smile

Now, get yourself over to one of the mumsnet antenatal clubs and get all excited with the ladies expecting at the same time as you Grin
