That’s it really. I am fed up of them. They are cliched and annoying and used to sell (cheap tacky) products to gullible customers to fill their homes with more crap. I know I will get blasted by everyone saying it’s harmless fun but I am done with it. I just want to say no more! I could also add in owls, foxes/penguins and pugs for good measure.....

Highpeak buy the ‘n’ and turn it upside down?

Flamingoringo · 17/03/2018 08:33

A few years ago, it seemed like birds were on everything. I had a blue tit scarf from Oliver Bonas, a butter dish with a bird on that someone bought me and clothes had birds printed on them.

HeckyPeck · 17/03/2018 08:33

How can you include poor penguins in with them all. 🐧🐧🐧🐧

HateSummer · 17/03/2018 08:34

HighPeak, what do you suggest they should’ve used for U instead? Off the top of your head, no googling 😄😄

Pickyricky · 17/03/2018 08:35

Sorry HeckyPeck...

Isnt it just for kids? For 10 year old dd loves unicorns, I think let her enjoy her cheap tacky products while she can, it is only harmless fun.
What sort of thing do you want kids to like?

Pickyricky · 17/03/2018 08:41

Clearly my children are reading Shakespeare and doing 3 hours a day of violin practice Wink. But the thing is upsideup it’s nit just kids buying this -crap- merchandise

Apparently trendsetters high up in fashion decide what's going to be 'in' and then high street designers follow suit. Supposedly this year, llamas are in, aztec is back, flamingos are still here, and fairies and sprites are going to be popular. We have clothes and bedding with llamas and sloths on from last year. Anything is better than the pug craze.

Pickyricky · 17/03/2018 08:43

Sorry epic fail on scoring out crap....

Pickyricky · 17/03/2018 08:43

Sloths have already been done!

I like owls. Always have. Not ashamed to admit my strigiphile ways.

Don't like pugs though. They can do one.

Highpeak · 17/03/2018 08:48

HateSummer

I looked it up at the time. They make one with umbrella bird but the shop didn't stock it. (I'm a biologist, a mythical animal amongst the real ones bothered meGrin)

ShiftyMcGifty · 17/03/2018 08:49

paperchase must be a trend setter as they’ve had llamas last year

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 17/03/2018 08:49

Out with pineapples!
In with turnips!

(don't think this is going to catch on....)

JingsMahBucket · 17/03/2018 08:50

YANBU. I’m sick of it and glitter seeping in to adult culture. It’s infantilizing grown adults and just feels like one giant distraction from larger issues going on.

Here, look! A glitter cake with unicorns and purple and slime! Pay no attention to the fall democracy over there in the corner!

NeepNeepNeep · 17/03/2018 08:51

We must be the same age Pickricky. I had a sunflower dreamcatcher. Much of my tat was purchased in Internacionale (sp?)

I would like one of these fashion/marketing jobs coming up with random animals and fruits. Is it random? How do they decide? Glad the moustache one is over. Pugs and cactii weren't great. I predict wizards and citrus fruit next.

upsideup · 17/03/2018 08:52

I've never seen an adult with anything remotely related to unicorns, mermaids, rainbows etc? What do they do wear this stuff?

OutyMcOutface · 17/03/2018 08:52

H my god yes. I’m just glad that I don’t have daughters and am thus mostly shielded from it.

NeepNeepNeep · 17/03/2018 08:52

Turnips lol

I also remember stars and moons with faces. Cherubs.

pictish · 17/03/2018 08:53

Sloths will be the new fad. I got some socks recently with sloths on them. It was 3 for £5...and as I always wear skinnies tucked into boots my socks are of no import...my 3 pairs featured unicorns, cats and sloths.
Want him this space I tell you - sloths is where it’s at this year.

Notso · 17/03/2018 08:54

Alpacas seem to be a thing. DD had alpaca Christmas decorations.

RainyApril · 17/03/2018 08:54

I don't mind any of this for kids, but I am agog at grown adults wearing and buying this shit.

I don't get Christmas jumpers, motif t shirts or animal jewellery either.

To me, a woman wearing a giant star on a Hush jumper or an Alex Monroe bee necklace just looks like she's wearing oversized kid clothes.

People filling their homes with flamingos, pineapples and cacti are similarly tasteless.

I grew up in the 70s when homes were full of wooden animals and portraits of crying children with dogs, and this feels similar.

SD1978 · 17/03/2018 08:54

Pugs. Pugs on everything. I don’t get it.
