It's a parking one!

Get the popcorn out and settle in, ladies!
Right.. We have recently started renting a house. Every house has an allocated parking space. This is in a small sort-of car park, accessed from the road, which is at the end of a cul de sac. The issue is, one of the neighbours has a second car and parks it by the wall of the car park, directly in front of our space. Their allocated space is next to ours, and someone else has a space on the other side. The presence of this car is making it impossible for me to reverse in. Husband can but has to go very slowly. I think they are cheeky fuckers and the car should be moved. We risk pranging it when we drive in. My argument is that if you want two cars, live in a place with two spaces or park on the street (several streets over). My husband is more sympathetic. Thoughts please?

Could you swap allocated spaces with them so that they block themselves in instead?

Dustysparrow · 16/03/2018 13:04

If it is causing you difficulties using your space then YANBU. But the absence of a diagram is very U Grin

Liverbird77 · 16/03/2018 13:07

Here is a diagram.
Swapping wouldn't help, as there is another car on their side...

UABVVVU for not having a diagram. Seriously, OP, otherwise you’re just a poor version of click bait. shakes head sadly

WaxOnFeckOff · 16/03/2018 13:08

Queens solution would seem the most obvious. If they were living in a house with a single long drive they would have to shuffle the cars and this would be similar.

PositivelyPERF · 16/03/2018 13:08

Oops. Blush

StealthNinjaMum · 16/03/2018 13:10

Kettle on. Check.
Pringles popped. Check.
Comfy chair. Check.

There hasn't been a good parking thread for ages. Last week's Ford Fiesta one fizzled out as op vanished. Please don't disappoint us op.

This would annoy me too. Why can't they park in front of their space and inconvenience themselves?

WaxOnFeckOff · 16/03/2018 13:11

Ah, I see now...

allthedogs · 16/03/2018 13:13

Just egg them.

OliviaStabler · 16/03/2018 13:14

Just leave a note on their car asking them not to park there. See what happens and go from there.

Liverbird77 · 16/03/2018 13:14

I apologise for my art skills Grin
It isn't totally clear because of sloppy drawing, but they couldn't move much further back. I just got the rage today as I tried to reverse in twice and it was their bloody car that was stopping me. I've had to drive forwards in but I don't think I can get it out to go out again!

OP posts:
Hidingtonothing · 16/03/2018 13:15

It's a pain but I would just ask them to move it everytime you need to get in, they'll hopefully get sick of it and find somewhere else to park.

ObiJuanKenobi · 16/03/2018 13:16

I would get a 'no parking' sign for the wall immediately. Cunts.

WaxOnFeckOff · 16/03/2018 13:17

If you can't get your car out OP you are going to have to go and ask them to move their car. If you keep doing this then they may just not think it's worth the bother.

Urubu · 16/03/2018 13:26

Who is in charge of the car park? Could you report an unidentified car?

ShatnersWig · 16/03/2018 13:29

Liver Does that mean us men aren't allowed to partake of this thread?

DeathStare · 16/03/2018 13:29

I'd just ask them to move it every single time I needed to get the car in or out.

TheMaddHugger · 16/03/2018 13:30

dang this sounds really familiar. I wonder if you moved into the same place as the other writer from last year

PositivelyPERF · 16/03/2018 13:33

Liver Does that mean us men aren't allowed to partake of this thread? you can stay, Shatner, so long as you don’t try mansplaining how to park a car. Wink

Liverbird77 · 16/03/2018 13:35

you can stay, Shatner, so long as you don’t try mansplaining how to park a car. wink...don't think my husband hasn't already suggested this hahahaha

AllNamesTakenhell · 16/03/2018 13:37

Just go and tell them to move every time. Or park in front of their space in the same way so they see the difficulty

Liverbird77 · 16/03/2018 13:37

TheMaddHugger...well as we are in a rental, I suppose that is possible!
Having just moved from London, where we had to rent a space in someone's drive, quite a walk from our flat, I was looking forward to an easier life here.
