Should I get my dentist struck off?

She praised how well I'd done today. But at the end I did not receive ONE sticker despite being an excellent patient. Just because I'm 35 doesn't mean I shouldn't deserve one.

Can I get her fired for gross misconduct? Or should I just grow up and buy my own "You're Brave" sticker?

I'm 33 and got a sticker last time I went Blush

BoostWarning · 14/03/2018 23:48

It said 'Tooth Defender!'

Hadenoughtoday · 14/03/2018 23:49

After my last visit where I had an anxiety attack and used all the tissues in the surgery, I actually think my dentist deserves a sticker (medal) Blush

MonaTheMoaner · 14/03/2018 23:54

YANBU.

I had two teeth extracted today and not one sticker. Pretty traumatic business.

Teutonic · 15/03/2018 00:06

What? Not even just one?
Totally unacceptable! You should contact the Daily Mail ( practice your best sad face first though ) write a strongly worded letter to the tooth fairy and log it with the police.
It's bad enough that dentists demand money through extortion ( or should that be extraction? ) but not offering a sticker is taking it too far!😤

PollyCotton · 15/03/2018 00:09

Go to my dentist - she gives stickers to my DC for watching me & then gives one to me when I point out that I was the one that didn't bite her! Grin

ForgetMeNotCat · 15/03/2018 00:11

Definitely log it with the police

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 15/03/2018 00:13

My dentist hands out tokens for a machine that dispenses rubber balls, naff little toys etc. DS(6) loves it. Plus he gets a toothbrush and kid friendly dental flossers.

Teutonic · 15/03/2018 00:17

He would be better handing out tokens for a machine that dispenses brandy. Purely for medicinal purposes. You know, for shock (when you get the bill ) 😭

viques · 15/03/2018 00:23

when I went for my last check up the dentist didn't even invite me to have some of that yummy free mouthwash they have. I was very miffed. I blame Jeremy Hunt, or the tooth fairy , or both.

Ollivander84 · 15/03/2018 00:33

Mine has a tree at Christmas covered in mini toothpastes, mouthwash, floss etc and you can take what you want Grin

user1471517900 · 15/03/2018 06:44

Thanks all. I was so brave as well throughout, I surely passed the bravery tests!

Call 101 and the General Dental Council. It's dentists like this that stop people going back. Put a stop to this awful treatment IMMEDIATELY

shakeyourcaboose · 15/03/2018 06:48

Definitely log it with 101, or maybe 111 as they're the NHS bods! Maybe even start twitter campaign #stickers4all? Flowers for you in your sadness BearStar (print these out and make your own!)

SureIusedtobetaller · 15/03/2018 06:53

Most solicitors will give you half an hour of free legal advice. I would find out what your legal sticker rights are otherwise they will think this is a reasonable way to treat patients.

TheTab · 15/03/2018 06:55

Our dentist gives out mini tubes of Colgate to grown ups 😛

NHS dentist at that.

steff13 · 15/03/2018 06:56

My dentist doesn't do stickers. 😔

But my doctor does, and she lets you take two. And some of them have Hello Kitty on them.

YourBestKnickers · 15/03/2018 07:03

Mine gives compliments instead Angry
I want glittery stickers!

Ryder63 · 15/03/2018 07:06

steff13 where are you? I'm moving to your area and registering Grin

nannybeach · 15/03/2018 07:07

You must go back and DEMAND a sticker, (this is from me, aka severe dental phobic)

CigarsofthePharoahs · 15/03/2018 07:09

Ds1 got a batman sticker last time.
My teeth were judged as absolutely fine and I got nothing. Not fair.
I did see the hygienist 6 months ago though, and got some free toothpaste.

londonrach · 15/03/2018 07:15

Yanbu. My dd aged 18 months at the time got a balloon glove animal and five stickers and didnt even open her month for more than 2 seconds despite alot of encouragement. I got nothing for laying quietly whilst she stuck tools in my mouth. You right need to complain!

Petalflowers · 15/03/2018 07:18

LTB (or should that be LTD - leave the dentist!)

Rufusbear · 15/03/2018 07:19

My pharmacist gave the child in front of me a sticker, a teeny bag of Harribo and a mini pharmacy colouring book and colours when collecting their medicine. Me with a huge bad of medicine got nothing, nothing. I did state the unfairness of this situation.

redcarbluecar · 15/03/2018 07:20

Yes, LTD. You deserve better hun.
