Use of female imagery on branding

Ok, I admit I may be feeling a bit over sensitive at the moment for various reasons, but AIBU to think that the use of female imagery on a brand of chocolate confectionary called "Rich and Intense Bakewell Tart Milk Chocolate" is a bit out of order. Didn't know whether to laugh or cringe when I saw it. This was in a National Trust shop, btw. Erm...?

Just googled it and can't see anything. Clicky link please

3 quid for 100g bar? Get in the sea!

Crispbutty · 14/03/2018 20:42

Eh??

carnassials · 14/03/2018 20:43

It's a historical drawing of a woman holding up cherries

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 14/03/2018 20:44

I think you’re being over sensitive

AlonsoTigerHeart · 14/03/2018 20:44

No idea...

AssassinatedBeauty · 14/03/2018 20:47

If you read the description there's an utterly reasonable explanation of the picture.

Crispbutty · 14/03/2018 21:40

I really can't understand how people can get worked up about something that is absolutely nothing.. Confused

NotACleverName · 14/03/2018 21:44

Well that's a fuss over nothing. The chocolate bar itself sounds nice, though.

MadMags · 14/03/2018 21:45

What??

Teutonic · 14/03/2018 21:48

It's a drawing of a woman holding some cherries on a chocolate bar wrapper and er...um....er, that's it 😴

I can't imagine that the Flake lady feels threatened by the competition yet.

DalekDalekDalek · 14/03/2018 21:55

God, I was expecting it to be a image of a naked woman holding a bakewell tart to preserve her modesty.

What is wrong with a woman's face being on the wrapper for some chocolate? Confused

Look up HeadlessWoman on twitter if you want outrageous marketing that relies on women's bodies. Don't think I care about cherries in the lady's hair.

splendide · 14/03/2018 22:09

Female imagery is such a strange way of saying “a picture of a woman”.

JacksGirl123 · 14/03/2018 22:10

Fucking hell.

Oysterbabe · 14/03/2018 22:13

God that sounds amazing.

Aquamarine1029 · 14/03/2018 22:30

Honestly, you have taken being "oversensitive" to a level I once believed unobtainable.

I think I understand what you're getting at, OP, and I'm with you.

starzig · 14/03/2018 22:48

????? What is supposed to be the issue?

I think the picture of the woman is meant to portray the “tart” element of the chocolate . But you all know that.

OP you will not get one word of sense out of most on here. Try the feminism boards? Even if people disagree they will engage with you properly. And you won’t have to waste time trawling through the wide eyed deliberately obtuse comments.

Oh the irony.
