What the fuck? Russian spy poisoned in Salisbury?!

So yesterday we went into town. As we were leaving we saw an air ambulance come down right where we were.

Got back to see that 2 people were taken ill, they thought drug related.

This morning, Salisbury A&E were shut down in a major incident, with up to 10 people contaminated by an unknown substance.

Several areas cordoned off in town.

This evening we find out that actually the man is a former Russian spy, and that poisoning is likely!

Jesus. Sleepy Salisbury.

So, DH has a hospital appointment tomorrow......would you go??

So odd to see our sleepy city on headline news at 10 Shock The Journal will now doubt live off this story for a long time to come. On a serious note, I hope that both of them recover from whatever they have been given and can shed some light on what and how it happened.

They’ve closed Zizzis now! We were in there celebrating DHs birthday on Sunday afternoon. FIL is a retired Porton researcher, I didn’t notice him slip away...

So the woman in question is his daughter Sad

Also, his wife and son were killed in a car accident.

This is insane.

More than that, we have no information on the 10 casualties (members of the public) that were being treated at the hospital. No information if they are ok.

I’ve seen seen it widely reported that both his wife and son died in car accidents, but the BBC and Guardian have that his wife died of cancer and his 43 year old son died abroad of liver failure. BBC also say his daughter lives in Russia, but was visiting. So who knows.

This is getting like McMafia. There was another mysterious death of a Russian a few years ago, Boris B-something, can't recall his surname.

Killing people is never a good thing (although there are possible exceptions) but using a nerve agent in a busy public place is awful. I hope the poor police officer recovers.

Putin and his ilk are scarey fuckers imo.

There was a Russian guy on the radio today basically saying that he didn't understand why we are getting upset as "it's just Russians taking care of internal Russian business" !!Shock

Velvetbee - did you see anything in Zizzi's? Police are after as much info as possible.

Getting increasingly pissed off with reports that he was angry and an 'arsehole' according to the Zizzi chef and staff.

When you take 40 minutes to get a main meal out, people tend to get a bit pissed off. Unfair to vilify the man fighting for his life by calling him an arsehole.

Wanker. Zizzi is shit anyway.

I can kinda see his point. If you get involved in spying as a line of work, then there is the possibility that bad things will happen.

It’s not like MI5 is squeaky clean with Dr David Kelly.
