Why are mothers such bitches?

Well some mothers are annoyed you - GASP - appear to be a person independent of them with your own thoughts about things and not a perfect little clone of them.

Yep, my mum was fabulous until I reached my mid teens and started making a bid for independence.

In my mid-forties now and she still likes to try and clip my wings.

Tbf she has good points too...has helped me out financially and with child care and when she's on form is hilarious, but sadly we just don't 'get' one another and probably never will now.

Minestheoneinthegreen How's about a little empathy for someone who is obviously going through some horrible shite, she only knows what she fucking knows, and certainly not your mother. You be grateful for not having hers, your attitude to someone in distress is hideous! Shame on you!

My mother is nice to everybody except me.it infuriates her that i have my perspective. I told her she hurt me and she has made it all about her so i get it.

The Op may express her frustration as she chooses. Quite why you've even bothered to type out your irrelevant opinion baffles me.

I'm so sorry you have a rubbish mum. They are not all like that. Mine was great - not perfect, but great. She overcame a seriously abusive childhood determined not to make the same mistakes with her own children, and she didn't.

Step away from her and make your own family.

My mum is likely on the spectrum (as probably I am) and can be brutally honest sometimes. Also sticks to stereotype types and uses astrology to gauge people's character. She is still an amazing mum in other ways and has really been there for me. I just ignore her verbal crap and filter it out.

Older women have a knack for brutal honesty and I'm going that way too! I just don't think you have the mental bandwidth to keep up appearances or think before you talk anymore! Just give as good as you get. Say "that's great, because I'm actually annoyed it was YOU that was pregnant with me too."

I'm so sorry you were so badly failed by your mother but as you should know (and I'm sure you do know deep down) this is not "mothers" generically, its "your mother".

I think you need to get some help with this because it doesn't sound like you've processed it properly but calling an entire class of person a "bitch" is toxic and self destructive.

Please talk to someone about how you feel, don't carry this sort of toxicity around with you.
