It drives me crazy but every weekend we do nothing! I love my life I have an amazing dh and 3 lovely dd’s and Monday - Friday it’s fine we’re busy and living everyday life but dh works away a lot so is never at home on the weekends and we seem to spend all day just laying about, dd’s are 13,7,2 so trying to find something they all want to do I’d almost impossible so they usually fight over the telly all day or sit staring at their iPad, when I was young my mum and dad always took me and my brother places and kept us busy without technology but now everything costs so much and the kids aren’t interested anyway. What does everyone else do at the weekends?

Download 'Hoop', really good app which lists everything going on for families in you local area. I've found some really useful information on it and go to all sorts of events I would never have known about

when i moved in my partner and his daughter were the same but over the last 4 years we've worked on making an effort to go out at least once each weekend to do something together, we swim, go for walks etc and recently I've taken Sophie (age 15) for a spa day - great boding for me and step daughter!! There's a lot you can do

Our DD is grown up now but when she was younger weekends would be:

Saturday - primary age Stagecoach(what a rip-off that was) then from about 10 or 11 up to leaving school music club and orchestra

Sunday - from young until late teenage usually a walk tied in with a bit of Geocaching. We actually took up geocaching in order to keep her interested in walking but actually you can still find caches that don't require lots of walking if that is not your thing.
