The worst birthday I have ever had was on my 10th birthday we were meant to be going out bowling but we discovered I had nits so had to treat that instead

My 35th, I'd had laparoscopic surgery about a week before and had to get up at the crack of dawn to take DS, then aged about 10 to hospital for a minor op (day case) When I got home I learnt that my ExH had spent most of the day in our bed with another woman when he should have been looking after the other children. It was my fault apparently as I wasn't able to have sex for 6 weeks after the op. He really was a prize tosser. Angry

None of mine were nearly this bad! But I suppose it's all relative, they felt bad at the time.

40th, my then BF apparently had to go to a 'meeting' so we couldn't go out, spent the day with my DP's who'd come 350 miles to stay to babysit my kids so I could go out. Had an early night, discovered next day that BF had actually been out with his 'other' girlfriend...

50th, my XH had been behaving a bit oddly and I was completely on edge. The day itself was okay but subsequently came out he was having a breakdown and fancied himself in love with a woman he barely knew and who barely knew him.

Have high hopes for my 60th, when it comes!

blacktea my ex sounds excatly like yours, for 10 years I've put up with shit birthdays.
My worst by far though was this year, id arranged to go out with friends over the weekend and against my better judgement I asked exdp to have dcs as I had nobody else to have them, he turned up an hour late and by 9.30pm he was calling and texting me to get back as he had made other plans. A huge row ensued, I eventually went home @10.30pm cried myself to sleep had a shit weekend, then to top it all off he called on the day (Monday gone) singing happy birthday as though we are best friends.
It's his birthday next week I'm sure he'll have a great day.

My 40th, i was sat in the spare room breast feeding a 10 week old baby. My then husband had told me 3 weeks earlier that he didnt love me anymore, we are now divorced.

My 7th. "D"M had walked out of DF a few months before, kidnapping me while he was at work. She gave me five minutes is a car park with him - barely enough time to get a hug and his gift and refusing my pleas to let him come to the cinema with us.

My 21st. Being given a box of chocolates followed by a P45 (shitty student sales jobs, hadn't been hitting targets as I had too much morality)

My 40th, I spent the day at the Police station and A&E because DD had been attacked the night before at work. She was OK but very badly bruised and it was weeks before she felt confident enough to work again.

My 44th. My father was terminally ill and went into the hospice that weekend. He died 2 weeks later. My husband had walked out on me 2 weeks before for OW. And I was unemployed, having lost my job a couple of months before. It was freezing cold and things have never looked so bleak.

My 28th birthday. My husband at the time went out the night before to celebrate his mistresses birthday and rolled in drunk at 4am. I ended up spending my birthday with my friend and her family whilst he lay on the sofa hungover. He didn't get why I was so pissed at him. I knew then we were done.

My birthday is 11th september, dcs are the same week. Spent the evening in TGIF with dc and dh with all the tvs on showing the disaster unfolding over and over again.

During my second HG pregnancy I had to be taken in to hospital on my birthday. I was about 12 weeks and had been doing well in comparison to my first pregnancy, so OH and I went out for dinner. The food clearly wasn't HG friendly as I spent the journey home vomiting. Got home, packed some things in to a bag and got straight back in the car to go to the hospital!

and forgot my 33rd when i was induced at 6am in the morning (after being in hospital for 6 weeks with PE) and spent the day in agony and then induce the next day again. My birthday was monday and DS was born 22.42 on wednesday night.
