Just having a conversation with my teenage daughter who's off school for the next couple of days. Don't understand their language. What are 'toos'

OP posts:
snoooop · 28/02/2018 23:13

Tu is the Sainsbury's clothing line.

MargotLovedTom1 · 28/02/2018 23:14

Tus = Sainsburys clothes plural. Got to be!

PyongyangKipperbang · 28/02/2018 23:14

Tu is Sainsburys own label clothing. Does she have leggings from there?

BeastFromTheEast · 28/02/2018 23:15

Tus. As in Sainsburys. She agrees. Still don't get it?!

OP posts:
BeastFromTheEast · 28/02/2018 23:16

How can you wear Tus for PE?

OP posts:
MargotLovedTom1 · 28/02/2018 23:16

Would be like saying "Had to do it in my Georges," if her stuff was from Asda.

Bazzle · 28/02/2018 23:16

TU is their clothing line!

PyongyangKipperbang · 28/02/2018 23:16

Just fuckin ask her! :o

"Darling, when you say "Tu's" which items of clothing are you specifically referring to?"

BastardGoDarkly · 28/02/2018 23:17

Tu is sainsburys range. Like George of Asda. Or Florence and Fred of tesco.

SnorkFavour · 28/02/2018 23:17

If she mentioned vomit as well, I'd say that Yarboosucks Urban Dictionary link might have the correct meaning :(

BeastFromTheEast · 28/02/2018 23:18

But what does 'had to do it in my Georges' mean?

OP posts:
FuckyNellYaBastad · 28/02/2018 23:19

Asda clothes!

BeastFromTheEast · 28/02/2018 23:21

Lol! So she had to do it in her Sainsburys clothes. Still don't get it. She won't tell me

OP posts:
JessieMcJessie · 28/02/2018 23:21

She means that she had to wear clothes from Sainsbury’s to do gym.

BeastFromTheEast · 28/02/2018 23:22

She means that she had to wear clothes from Sainsbury’s to do gym.
I get that. But her clothes aren't from Sainsburys? Confused

OP posts:
MargotLovedTom1 · 28/02/2018 23:23

Well maybe it's just slang for uniform amongst her pals?

MiddleClassProblem · 28/02/2018 23:24

Now we know it’s Tus she meant I’m not sure what you’re not getting...

Maybe she thought she’d get out of PE with no kit but had to wear her “Tus”? Maybe she doesn’t like her “Tus”? Maybe she’s just pointing out that she er... had to do PE in something other than her PE kit?

NoSquirrels · 28/02/2018 23:24

Items of her clothing are from Sainsbury’s Tu clothing line e.g. leggings, hoodie, tracker bottoms.

She didn’t have her official PE kit so had to make do with her supermarket clothes.

What’s not to understand?

MiddleClassProblem · 28/02/2018 23:24

But her clothes aren't from Sainsburys?

Sigh

MiddleClassProblem · 28/02/2018 23:25

Could you not just ask her?

NoSquirrels · 28/02/2018 23:26

If she has no clothes from Sainsbury’s that you know of then she’s either a) buying them herself b) borrowed them or c) is winding you up..,

MargotLovedTom1 · 28/02/2018 23:26

Yep - sigh! You know Tu = Sainsburys, now it's up to you to find out why she says it. We don't know either.

PyongyangKipperbang · 28/02/2018 23:26

Probably school slang for non branded gear as opposed to either school unifom stuff or branded/designer kit. Or possibly something from lost property where "Tu's" means skanky (it isnt but teens can be incredible brand snobs!).

BastardGoDarkly · 28/02/2018 23:27

Not one piece of clothing from sainsburys you can think of?

LonginesPrime · 28/02/2018 23:28

OP, the mystery seems to be why you've asked MN and don't feel you can ask your daughter what she's on about.
