Hospital training

TinaMena · 26/02/2018 08:54

Started a new job at a hospital last week. All was ok until Friday. I wasn't receiving the emails, so didn't know about the advice to wear 'swimwear' for training on Friday, so after changing into a hospital gown for that day's training was a bit shocked they didn't give me scrubs or something to wear under the gown for the training that day

Did you ask for some?

TinaMena · 26/02/2018 08:58

Didn't know I needed any. When the training began I told them I didn't have any swimwear but was just expected to get on with it

Hmm
SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 26/02/2018 09:00

Yes, I read the start of the other thread. I didn't read the whole thing, but I don't understand the scenario, what sort of training was it? What was the reason given for making you change into a gown?

MrsJoshDun · 26/02/2018 09:01

You're the second person this has happened to on MN in the last few days.

TinaMena · 26/02/2018 09:02

You're the second person this has happened to on MN in the last few days.
No. Same person!

What was the reason given for making you change into a gown?
Various things. Practising blood pressure. How to keep patients modesty (placing coverings over parts of a person and stuff). Lifting and stuff

Did you have underwear on? Because if so I don't see how swimwear would have been any different. Infact I would say my bra is thicker than my bikini top. Guess a swimsuit would cover the tummy but you had a gown on which also would.

TinaMena · 26/02/2018 09:10

Yes, I had underwear on, but we did have to take the gowns off (which is why we had to wear swimwear). And swimwear isn't as embarrassing to wear as just underwear!

OP posts:
SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 26/02/2018 09:31

So everyone was wearing a hospital gown with swimwear underneath, except that you had underwear instead? And now you feel like you shouldn't have had to do that, and that they should have given you scrubs or something instead?

TinaMena · 26/02/2018 09:32

and that they should have given you scrubs or something instead?
Basically. They shouldn't have made me do the training in my underwear Confused

What are you hoping for by starting a second thread which is a carbon copy of the first? You had lots of feedback on the other thread.

Again not sure whether they never sent you the email or whether the email issue was at your end - yes, it makes a difference.

Again, what are you hoping for here? It’s something done and dusted that you have had pages of feedback on.

Phosphorus · 26/02/2018 09:35

So you have some kind of hospital gown fetish?

Why the need for all the threads?

If this were true, reading your bloody emails would have eliminated thethe (fantasy) problem.

TheFairyCaravan · 26/02/2018 09:37

Why the need for a second thread?

NerrSnerr · 26/02/2018 09:37

You had a choice then, either do it in the underwear under the gown or not do the training. I'm not sure what else they could do?

timeforabrewnow · 26/02/2018 09:37

3rd thread on this. Time to move on now....

PeerieBreeks · 26/02/2018 09:42

So you DID know you needed to wear swimwear, and chose not to?

Springtrolls · 26/02/2018 09:49

Confused.
If you didn't know about the swimsuit on Friday then how did you post about this on Thursday?
Can I borrow your time machine?

ghostyslovesheets · 26/02/2018 10:04

lol - games up OP - maybe time to drop it

TinaMena · 26/02/2018 10:23

If you didn't know about the swimsuit on Friday then how did you post about this on Thursday?
Thursday / Friday whatever. Just got my days muddled up.

Sallystyle · 26/02/2018 10:41

So why all the threads?

TinaMena · 26/02/2018 10:42

Only the two Confused

Gosh it's clearly really affected you OP to keep posting about it over the course of several days and several threads. Have you thought about counselling via your HR department?
