Aibu to think 99% of problems could be avoided by supplying Ponty Pandy with mobile phones and basic fire safety?

Sam hasn't furthered a child. Sam is clearly gay. There is a LOT of subtext in fireman Sam. He has a proper thing going on with that Aussie, Tom Thomas

I've been watching Fireman Sam for months (thanks DS) & I haven't noticed any of this???

MongerTruffle · 23/02/2018 20:22

This should be added to the conspiracies thread. Smile

VanillaSugar · 23/02/2018 20:30

rebel has it. There are only two redheads in the village.

troodiedoo · 23/02/2018 20:30

OMG I thought I was the only one to theorize that fireman Sam is Normans father!

I love the show realises it's jumped the shark, and there are little jokes to be had. Would be great to see the original series on tv again for reference.

Rinoachicken · 23/02/2018 20:32

And I don’t think he’s gay. Have you seen the one where he’s teaching SOSteele to dance? He gets all shy and flustered asking Penny to dance and she goes all coy as well!

And I’m heroes of the the storm they are very touchy feely down in the mines - way more physical contact than necessary for two colleagues!

I may have watched these WAY too many times, first with DS1 and now again with DS2!!!

VanillaSugar · 23/02/2018 20:34

Why do you think Dyllis and Sam have so little chemistry together? It’s because 11 years ago he showed her his hose.

HobnobBob · 23/02/2018 20:41

Surely Dyllis is about 20 years older than Sam?

SkaPunkPrincess · 23/02/2018 20:41

Fireman Sam is a narcissistic billionare who has kidnapped and trapped all the characters in 'ponty pandy' Truman show style for his own gratification.

They have to concoct these elaborate scenarios for 'Fireman Sam' to save the day every day.

Otherwise he withholds basic human needs. Like food and bathroom facilities.

I have watched too much Fireman Sam, clearly.

Loyaultemelie · 23/02/2018 20:49

Sam has realised all the other fire services in Wales went part time years ago and he knows no other job plus his ego couldn't take it. His solution take one for the team and sleep with Dilys (bonus points for pissing Trevor off at the same time). The result is Norman and saving the Pontypandy fire service (also ensuring station officer Steele can safely provide for Elvis) Sam really is the hero next door.

lizzlebizzle33 · 23/02/2018 20:52

This thread 😂😂❤️

bookgirl1982 · 23/02/2018 20:56

Love this thread!

The original series is on Amazon prime. DH thinks it is racist because of the character called Bella Lasagne!

BeesAndChiscuits · 23/02/2018 20:59

I have just ruined my search history trying to find “that clip” of fireman Sam and station officer Steele. I think my safe search settings are hiding it from me. Thank you mn.

Welshmaenad · 23/02/2018 21:00

YABVVVVVU.

Mobile reception is some parts of the Valleys is fucking abysmal, everyone would die.

Littleraincloud · 23/02/2018 21:02

She is hob-nob but before Norman's behaviour had ground her down she was feisty, beautiful and wild and the local men of ponty pandy were infatuated with her. The shop was a front for a high class massage parlour. Sam was amongst the lucky ones. Trevor Evans over heard a conversation discussing that dilys had finally met her match in Sam whereas he was inexperienced and struggled to keep up with her high expectations and to this day feels inferior and resentful to Sam. Dilys hoped having a son would tame Sam, but she was wrong and in 11 years he hasn't paid a penny. Worried by her threats to publish a very kinky sex tape and report him for no payment, Sam ignores the increasingly dangerous behaviour of his son. Meanwhile, dilys herself struggles with her nerves as the police become ever closer to discovering the huge crop of cannabis plants in the room previously used as a parlour. However, the local police are as ineffectual as the fire service and instead suspect the blundering idiot officer Steele and have sent in a spy under the name of Elvis and his sniffer dog. The twist in the tale is Elvis is really Steeles son, disguised by his coiffe. Elvis has no loyalty to his father after hearing numerous arguments between his parents regarding an old bike in a corner shop. To this day he does not know what his mother meant.

It's been a while since I watched Fireman Sam (my youngest is 9) but we were quite addicted to it for a while in this house and I distinctly remember thinking that Sam's sister in law Bronwyn definitely had a crush on her husband's brother! Poor Charlie was working all hours out at sea but it was always 'Ooh Sam you're so brave...'

VanillaSugar · 23/02/2018 21:08

Station officer Steele is hiding a dark secret. Why, otherwise, would an English public schoolboy be in such a quiet corner of Wales? On his own?

Littleraincloud · 23/02/2018 21:11

Maybe he was the subject of a moral panic?

OP posts:
Littleraincloud · 23/02/2018 21:13

Maybe Steele is an ex prime minister who completely screwed up and this is his purgatory?

APontypandyPioneer · 23/02/2018 21:17

I don't understand how a town of, what, no more than about 12 has so much emergency resources? Tom Thomas, plus Sam, Penny, Elvis, Station Officer Steel, Ellie and Arnold. That's a resident to rescue worker ratio of about 2:1. Hmm

And it's always f'ing Norman. How does Dilis keep cooing over him "oh Norrr-mannn". I would have put him up for adoption before now the little sh!t.

And when will Trevor and Dillis get it on or is it unrequited love.

troodiedoo · 23/02/2018 21:23

@bookgirl1982 Bella is in the new ones but she's very low key and clearly has installed a sprinkler system

Whatshallidonowpeople · 23/02/2018 21:26

I think you'll find it's fire fighter Sam Grin

Fruitloopcowabunga · 23/02/2018 21:27

Oh come on, I LOVE Elvis.

RebelRogue · 23/02/2018 21:50

@VanillaSugar do I get a cookie? Or a small fire or something?Grin

Fintress · 23/02/2018 22:02

It's been a very long time since I tuned into Pontypandy. Is Bella Lasagne still alive?

troodiedoo · 23/02/2018 22:21

@Fintress you'll be amazed to learn that Pontypandy has moved from the valleys and is now a harbour town. more hazards
