I took my ds to his swimming lesson this evening (not uk). We were early so we popped into the shop next door.

As soon as we got in, some young lad vomited all over the aisle. His mum looked mortified, cleaned him up a little with a wipe and ushered him out.
After about 10 minutes we head back to swimming lessons but as we were walking in a manager tells us someone has been sick in the pool so lessons are cancelled. (Can you see where this is going?) And then out walk the mum and the boy in his (wet) swimming gear and towel looking very poorly.

AIBU to have called her out on it in front of the manager? I told her we had seen her son be sick in the shop and that it was completely selfish, not only to her son but to all the other kids and instructors, to still take him swimming.
The manager told her to take the boy home and that he would phone her later. She looked so pissed off.

Dh said I shouldn’t have said anything and left it to the pool manager to deal with it, I say they needed to know that the mum was well aware her son was ill before taking him swimming.

It also works perfectly with "disco 2000", just saying. OP must be a song writer and not know it!!

Some parents are just like that - they couldn't care less if their kid makes everyone else ill. Also apparently have zero idea about how illnesses are transmitted.

We went through the whole of primary with a couple of similar parents - would send in their DC after they had been puking, once clearly coming down with chicken pox & with every virus going (because as well as thinking the 48 hour rule didn't apply to them they also didn't bother washing hands, apparently ever). Inconsiderate/ignorant tossers! Feel sorry for the children too in these situations.

Yanbu.
Pool my dd has lessons in has notices up telling you not to swim for x number if days following any vomiting etc.
If dd had been sick when out, next stop would be home, definitely not swimming

Dd has missed 3 weeks of lessons. She had a cold do I asked did she want to go. Doesn't seem fair to her if she has a runny nose and not great for the water either. The following week she had been ill the night before, at the start of a virus which led to an ear infection. She was still on the antibiotics this week. It is unfortunate but that is the way it goes.
I dont know if I would have had the nerve to say it in front of everyone, but would have definitely fold the staff. She may think twice next time.
