So... the ranty, sweary, poorly spelled note writing person who abused ambulance drivers got taken to court and got fined.

I also read the Sun's take on it, which made me smile even more

I’ve heard of a twonk.

heathersmom · 20/02/2018 19:11

using twink and cum in the same sentence is beyond unfortunate

TwitterQueen1 · 20/02/2018 19:12

Read this article about how one stupid mistake can literally ruin lives - for ever.

I'm not denying the person behind this has behaved extremely badly in this instance and in others too, but OP I deliberately pulled out your spelling error to indicate just how easy it is to cock up online and how the evidence is there forever for people to judge. Yes, she needs punishment, re-education, etc, but no-one deserves to be publicly hounded.

PortiaCastis · 20/02/2018 19:12

Twink is a gay man who's with somebody older and I also think this will get out of hand and threats will be issued

But it wasn’t a typo - she got a piece of paper, found a pen, wrote the note. Went out, stick it on the windscreen and yelled at a few people.

For a ‘young person’, not realising that this is prime social media fodder is very short sighted. Unless she just wanted her face in the paper.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/02/2018 19:17

Twitter not sure a post here is the same as a vile note popped onto an ambulance... lack of invective for a start! Weird you should focus on the spelling...

But hey! It is MN and in MNLand the answer isn't always what you expect.

So it appears that yes IABU and, furthermore, I am possibly increasing the danger to a young woman who has had the misfortune to, erm... well, break the law, threaten emergency service personnel and be generally unpleasant!

I can only be grateful that this isn't real life... such fluffy bunnyisms would be have terrifying consequences!

OP posts:
RedDogsBeg · 20/02/2018 19:17

She's 26 more than enough of an age to behave like a grown up and not a selfish little brat, furthermore there is already a restraining order on her in relation to the neighbours who had called the ambulance so she is hardly some delicate little flower.

I don't hold with on-line abuse or death threats and she may well be on the receiving end of some, however, she shed not one tear for the effect her behaviour had on anyone else.

dustarr73 · 20/02/2018 19:18

@SchoolMoney Zip up your mickeyGrin

McDougalMcPhee · 20/02/2018 19:18

it's not a one off

she doesn't even have a flipping car!

TwitterQueen1 · 20/02/2018 19:19

On a lighter note heathersmom I am now wiser and laughing at your post. I had no idea what a twink is, but apparently, Urban Dictionary says The stereotypical twink is 18-22, slender with little or no body hair, often blonde, dresses in club wear even at 10:00 AM, and is not particularly intelligent. A twink is the gay answer to the blonde bimbo cheerleader.

So OP, and I do mean this very gently and kindly and with my school teacher's hat on, which I'm quite prepared to be mocked for, maybe choose your words a little more carefully? It's very, very easy to make mistakes and when they're online, you can't take them back - they live forever.

SheNumpty · 20/02/2018 19:20

I'm in Stoke-on-Trent, and can assure you that we're not all knobs. I've had ambulances block my whole road for over an hour, that's what they have to do sometimes. We live on a terraced street, and if they had to block it for days to save someone's life then I say they're welcome to park right outside my house. Horrible self-centred knobhead. Angry

Graphista · 20/02/2018 19:20

"but let's not hound her" - why not? Give her a taste of her own medicine. The neighbours, one of whom the ambulance was there for, have had to get a restraining order against her - they're incredibly hard to get so that suggests she's been being quite vile to them over a period of time.

This sounds as if she was using the situation to harass them again without violating the restraining order. She doesn't even own a car so the ambulance parking wherever has no impact on her at all.

"The fine is a joke. She doesnt work and will be played out of her benefits in such a miniscule amount she wont notice." I agree, I'd have far rather she was given some kind of community service doing something she hated.

TwitterQueen1 · 20/02/2018 19:21

OP - read my posts. I said: I deliberately pulled out your spelling error to indicate just how easy it is to cock up online and how the evidence is there forever for people to judge.

NotACleverName · 20/02/2018 19:23

Yes, of course she was idiotic and she's young

Hmm

She's 26. Not 16 (not that being 16 would make her behaviour any better). She's a grown woman and more than old enough to realise that you shouldn't act like a selfish piece of shit and harrass emergency services crews.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/02/2018 19:26

As I have said, twice already, that isn't the only meaning. And the other, more modern (and to many, including me) equally unknown definition, has been given a couple of times already!

But hey ho! With my used to be a teacher's hat on, don't be such a pedant!

  1. I am anonymous here... I can change name and my atrocious spelling will simply disappear from my life
  2. I chose my words very carefully, based on my personal experience of them, English being such a wonderful, plastic language
  3. The Twink in question didn't act online, she acted in real life!
  4. Why so, erm holier than thou solicitous patronising well meaning?

I have accepted that in MNLand IABU. But find it hard to believe that anyone would choose to berate an anonymous poster for finding the whole story amusing rather than pondering what it is in today's society that makes the Twink's selfishness more prevalent?

OP posts:
JuneBuggy · 20/02/2018 19:28

Twonk, twink... either way she’s a selfish moron who’s facing the consequences of her unreasonable and illegal actions.

Amazed that people are focusing more on the insult and spelling than the actual issue here. We live in a society where (thankfully a minority of) people think it’s acceptable to treat our Emergency Services in this way. Where they are so self-centred, narcissistic and downright thick that they can’t or choose not to comprehend that someone else’s need to emergency medical care may be more important than their right to a parking space outside their house, especially when they don’t even own a car Hmm

To Emergency Services personnel, thank you for all you do. Do whatever you need to to keep doing what you do best. The majority of us have your back. We don’t mind if you block or drive, or our road, or use our parking spaces! Smile

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/02/2018 19:30

(oh June, you committed a cardinal MN sin... you used the word 'moron' - here, borrow my hard hat and we can wave goodbye to the thread together Smile )

At least idiots with guns don’t take pot shots when they are attending an incident (I have a relative in the US in the emergency services).

HannahHut · 20/02/2018 19:32

YABU for reading The Scum.

mari652 · 20/02/2018 19:32

She deserves all the opprobrium in the world. 26 is not a child and it wasn't a slip of the tongue or a mistake. She has zero empathy with other human beings and the absolute heroes who are there to save lives so is undeserving of any leeway or sympathy.
I had a time when I was waiting for heart surgery and was taken in a few times by ambulances - sometimes just to check that an episode had subsided. I was apologising once, very Britishly, for taking up their time for what I felt didn't need A& E ( it did) , and was given a long list of ambulance calls that were actual wastes of time. They have to deal with entitlement and abuse and yet keep going, saving lives.

Save any sympathy for the paramedics and their patients, not low lifes like this woman.

heathersmom I was about to say the same!

TwitterQueen1 · 20/02/2018 19:34

Well we could always resort to lynch mob mentality of course, which would absolutely solve the problem Hmm

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/02/2018 19:34

YABU for reading The Scum. yeah, I know...
