Tiny things that make YBVVVVVU

Guest came over at the weekend. Tipped out the last of the cup of tea she’d made for herself into the sink as we were saying our goodbyes, aong with the teabag. Left the teabag sat there in the plug hole.

Right. There. In the plug hole.

I know, I know, who cares, just fish it out and throw it away when she’s gone, but I momentarily had visions of stuffing said teabag up one of her nostrils in revenge.

Help reassure me that I am not alone in my insanity. What tiny, ridiculous, non-things give you the murdrous rage?

Dh asking me questions, not listening to the answer and then asking the same bloody question 10 minutes later.

Dh putting the wet dishcloths in the middle bit of the sink - the drainer bit with a plug hole in the bottom (if you know what I mean) so that they never dry, and just get slimy and manky, instead of putting them tidily over the edge of the dish drainer rack, so they dry out. One of these days I am going to wipe his face with one of the manky cloths and see how he likes it (not really, but I can dream).

People who always fill a dirty saucepan with hot soapy water, then just 'leave it to soak'. They never come back to wash it up later. If I didn't do it,it would still be sitting by the sink, full of cold water with a layer of congealed fat on it a week later.

Mrsramsayscat · 21/02/2018 17:48

Raspberryriple, it's like that line in the Royle family, when Jim tells his son about the roasting tin: "leave it for your mother "!

My current pet hate is when teenagers leave empty loo rolls on the side in the bathroom instead of the bin, several, and then get another. I have an ensuite so don't go in there daily. It infuriates me, and makes me feel like the family servant. I've had to stop myself binning them, and call the kids from their pits to fight over who is culpable.

RaspberryRipple63 · 21/02/2018 17:49

Oh and the one that happened to me today. People (if they can actually be called that) leaving their table in a coffee shop in a hideous mess. I'm not talking about a few empty cups and sugar packets. There were crisps mashed into the chair seat and all over the floor around the table, sugar all over the table, milk and fruit juice spilt on the table, sweet wrappers and empty crisp packets scattered around and serviettes strewn everywhere. 4 teenage girls were the culprits. I'd hate to see the state of their bedrooms.

dantdmistedious · 21/02/2018 18:02

Someone sitting next to me on the train when there are plenty of other seats not next to anyone.

PoppyFleur · 21/02/2018 18:03

People leaving toast crumbs in the butter. All. Over. The. Butter.

Using the same knife to butter toast and then dipping into the jam jar leaving globs of butter in the jam.

Heathens, the lot of them.

SynecdocheSussex · 21/02/2018 18:09

Hand dryers in public toilets louder than jets taking off

Rosielily · 21/02/2018 18:12

Hashtags. Am I the only one who doesn't "get" them?

venellopevonschweetz · 21/02/2018 18:14

Pressing the button for the lift/traffic light when it’s already been pressed . You don’t have superior pressing skills you wally.

and people who press it and stand there waiting like a wally for the little green man WHEN THERE ARE NO CARS COMING - just cross FFS.

Helpimfalling · 21/02/2018 18:17

People that bring there washing down after the washing machines actually on even though I've called for washing about fifty times and they've all told me there's is in

Oh oh and people who open draws when looking for things and don't shut them properly and leave them with everything hanging out most Dh and the front room units

Helpimfalling · 21/02/2018 18:18

People who turns lights on when it's fucking day time

People who walk past there shit on the stairs and don't take it up

Leaving toilet door open after they've used it

Fml I'm stressed now

Chocolatesaveslives · 21/02/2018 18:21

My DH hoardes drinks by his side of the bed. I've given up with this and resound myself to the fact he's basically a teenager and if he wants his side of the bed wants to be a mess then so be it.

Anyway, when he eventually brings them all down (when he has run out of space on the bedside table) he puts them next to the sink (above the dishwasher) with most of them still half full of drink. He doesn't empty them or wash them up or put them in the dishwasher, he lets the sodding things sit there half full of drink above the dishwasher 😠.

Celticrose · 21/02/2018 18:27

In our last house not so much our new one. DH after washing hands in bathroom walked into kitchen while drying hands and left towel in kitchen which already had one Angry

MaMisled · 21/02/2018 18:29

DH puts dirty teaspoon on draining board. I've told him a zillion times: dirty stuff to the left of the sink, washed up stuff to the right, on the draining board. Drives me up the fucking pole.

Soubriquet · 21/02/2018 18:29

I got shouted at by a bloke because I crossed the road with my children. There was no bloody cars there! Apparently I was setting a bad example and I should always wait for the green man

MyKingdomForBrie · 21/02/2018 18:31

Being asked to repeat myself. I always consider the person to have negligently not listened even when it’s probably my fault for muttering. Absolutely hate having to say it again.

Sorry what did you say? Grin

My dh , when he says he will do dishes after evening dinner, leaves it until just before bedtime so I have to pass the dirty dishes every time I go into kitchen. HATE IT. Also , he leaves the pots and casserole dish 'soaking' over night so in morning I have to empty dirty, grease floating ,cold water out of them before washing(he leaves for work early). Really really annoying 😣

whoputthecatout · 21/02/2018 18:48

When you drive up to a line of parked cars and stop to let an oncoming car (who has the right of way) come through and despite seeing you stationary for them, they stop and insist on flashing so you then have to go first. Just WHY?

deecrepid · 21/02/2018 18:52

Chewing gum. People chewing it with their mouth open or even visibly chewing it with their mouth closed - it's drives me INSANE. I hate the smell of the warm artificial mint permeating from their gaping maws

This is my pet hate - and even worse disposing of it under tables etc. I once went into hospital and found some old chewing gum on my bedside locker.☹️

Arrowfanatic · 21/02/2018 18:55

Dh will use something like cereal and leave like a soup spoons worth of cereal in the box and put it back. For gods sake just put the extra half dozen shreddies in your bowl and enjoy the extra mouthful.

Likewise on the rare occasions he cooks anything that requires a saucepan he'll leave a smidgen of food in the pan and then when challenged as to why he hasn't put used pan in dishwasher says because it's not empty. Well those 3 pieces of pasta are hardly a meal are they. His mum verified with me that he did this at home too, she said it's his way of getting out of cleaning it up.

My children unable to use toothpaste without getting the toothpaste all over the tube, and the sink, and the taps, and the shelf, and the towels.........

2 evenings a week my husband has to feed the cats as I am out. Those 2 evenings never change. Every week I get home late to 3 hungry cats "did you feed the cats ArrowDH?" "No, sorry I forgot" Angry every single sodding week. I manage to feed them the other 7 mornings and 5 evenings for goodness sake!!!!!!!

IShouldntPostBut · 21/02/2018 19:01

DSD using microwave to partially melt butter so it spreads more easily. I finally told DP (in front of DSD) I thought we needed a new refridgerator, as the current one wasn't able to keep butter from melting. DSD smiled guiltily. DP glared. At me!

Boxingdaydisappoints · 21/02/2018 19:02

When my fucking step son goes to the toilet and doesn't flush! He's 18 FFS! Just one of many.

Cellardoor23 · 21/02/2018 19:30

Slurpers set my teeth on edge, can't stand it.

My DP likes to throw his dirty clothes towards the washing basket, but it never seems to go in it. Just sitting next to it. Makes me Angry

People who don't say please or thank you. Even when it's not directed at me. Queue jumpers, especially at bus stops.
