Hope the link works. I'm glad she got arrested.

OP posts:
TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 19/02/2018 11:33

Delighted she’s been arrested. I hope she ends up in court.

Failingat40 · 19/02/2018 11:35

@MuseumOfCurry "She's far from an ideal citizen, but since when did leaving vitriolic messages on someone's car become illegal?"

She also verbally abused the emergency services in their duty.

For the record, an Ambulance is not 'someone's car' Hmm

YassQueen · 19/02/2018 11:36

I hope they make an example of her but I don't have high hopes. Paramedics and ambulance crews are verbally and physically attacked every day (EMDs are also verbally attacked near enough every day), very little ever comes of it.

Failingat40 · 19/02/2018 11:39

I'm glad the police took positive action on this in support of their ambulance colleagues.

I would like to see her tenancy being reviewed also in light of her despicable behaviour.

They should remove her from having the privilege of a parking space and put her in a multi story.

Vile entitled madam.

Youshallnotpass · 19/02/2018 11:44

If any of my neighbours needed a flipping ambulance I would let them park on my driveway if needed. The job they do is fantastic and I think people take for granted that we live in a time with effectively mobile hospitals which can come to you and save your life.

Amazing really, great things.

goldface · 19/02/2018 11:45

Exactly what failing@40 said - it's not someone's car!!! It's a freakin ambulance!
Honestly, it's staggering what some people think is acceptable behaviour. I too work in the nhs, and whilst it's appalling, I'd agree that it's sadly not a surprise.

QuiQuaiQuod · 19/02/2018 11:49

a complete selfish idiot but what law has she actually broken?

but another vehicle is okay to park in her drive/block her drive?

although I would underdstand if she was disabled/had a disabled or elderly person with her.

I get this where I live. we have an EMERGENCY disabled access that needs to be clear at all times driveway.

the people who live right at the other end of the street, with driveway, always seem to call 999, and plenty of places to park at the side of the road, always stop outside MINE and stay there ages.

Ive also gone out and asked them to move, my DC and her disablilities and need to take her out/in quickly comes first.

Im going to get flamed for this post and called a selfish arse, but there is plenty of room in street to park, there are a million (sic) notices on our wall and gate and STILL, not only them, but others block us.

my Dc nearly died one time cos someone was blocking us,and I couldnt get out with her, it would have been quicker for me to take her to hospital than wait for an ambulance.

(thankfully a neighbour who did a st Johns course was nearby to help and saw to DC

so I can see where this womans coming from.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 19/02/2018 11:52

Qui Shock please tell me your post is satire?

You don't actually have a go at paramedics for the way they park?

UgandanKnuckles · 19/02/2018 11:55

She is a 24 carat, weapons grade arsehole.

MuseumOfCurry · 19/02/2018 11:56

Museum - to be honest, why is leaving a - in your owns words - vitriolic message any worse behaviour? Yes, if someone was to say something foul to me it would have more impact than if it were written down, but a written message could just as easily cause stress and upset to someone, so of course it should be an arrestable offence.

Causing stress and upset to someone is not a reasonable threshold for arrest. I hope that's obvious.

The article is misleading in that it says she was arrested for the note. 'Verbal abuse' is different in that it's harassment.

QuiQuaiQuod · 19/02/2018 11:57

i dont 'have ago', i ask them politly but firmly to move, they never seem in a hurry to run to house calling them anyway, theyre just sitting there filling in forms for ages.

and weve had a shit morning out, agin being verbally abused by disablists so read my post properly and see where IM coming from.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 19/02/2018 11:58

I have. I think it's disgusting. They're paramedics, not taxi drivers and I'm not sure you can play the disablist card when no one has said anything disablist.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 19/02/2018 11:59

Oh sorry I thought you were accusing me of being disablist Blush sorry you had a crap morning!

mumgointhroughtorture · 19/02/2018 12:05

I just hope one day when these people who abuse paramedics need their help , the paramedics are held up arguing with someone else about parking and get delayed .

No bloody respect in this world anymore . Everyone is selfish and just think of themselves .

Bramble71 · 19/02/2018 12:10

Although I would never condone leaving a note like this on an ambulance of course, I can imagine this woman might have been at her wits end with any old Tom, Dick or Harry ditching their vehicle in her allocated parking space.

When I lived in a small block of flats I had an allocated space and was always finding myself kept out by selfish, lazy people, particularly neighbours who knew full well that the spaces belonged to the owners of the flats. The spaces formed part of the value of the property and also meant cars could be insured as being parked off road, rather than on street. Why the hell should someone else think they could use it.

I'd never begrudge the emergency services but I would anyone else and I don't really give a toss if I get stick for it

londonista · 19/02/2018 12:10

Wow if the first responders started reporting all the abuse they get, and I hope they do, what a shock we'd get.
Just this weekend, I saw cars honking an ambulance that was blocking a road near us in SW London (where you cannot get past on either side due to parked cars).
At St George's hospital last month, I saw a paramedic ask someone to move so he could get the ambulance out, and the person told him to "fuck off back to his own country".

These are the people that also honk funeral corteges, rubbish trucks and never let the bus out.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/02/2018 12:15

Bramble71 I'm puzzled by your logic. I don't think anyone has said that because ambulances on an emergency call need to park wherever is convenient, that means anyone can park anywhere. Of course some lazy entitled sod parking in your space is not the same as an ambulance parking there

PeterPiperPickedSeaShells · 19/02/2018 12:17

A woman has been arrested in connection with this note, yippee!!

An ambulance isn't any Tom, Dick or Harry though....it's an ambulance.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/02/2018 12:18

Bramble
Okaaay. Do we even know it’s allocated parking?

PeterPiperPickedSeaShells · 19/02/2018 12:20

Sorry posted too soon.
I'm so pleased that both the ambulance trust & police are appearing to take this seriously. All too often NHS workers are not supported when challenging abusive or inappropriate behaviour

eggsandwich · 19/02/2018 12:21

Well let’s just hope she doesn’t need an ambulance and the only space available is a neighbour of hers.

mollied · 19/02/2018 12:23

Thats disgusting to even think about writing that on an ambulance, although sadly I think it is something one of my neighbours would do so there are many of these kind of people out there

Aeroflotgirl · 19/02/2018 12:44

lets hope she never needs the help of an Ambulance sorry Van when she is in need. Thick as two planks of wood, she thoroughly deserved everything she got.
