FIL is an arse!

The half term project is the solar system. DS spent a lot of time researching and making a fantastic model to take in on Monday. It was sitting on the table proudly displayed to show the GPs who came today.

Did they show an interest and pride in their GS's work? Of course not. FIL has said it was "wrong" because there is no Pluto. FFS.

We've all told him. DH showed him the internet. But FIL doesn't care. Pluto according to him is a planet, the experts are wrong, the teacher is wrong and a ten year old's project is WRONG.

DS went to bed fine. He didn't mention it again. I however will bear a grudge.

You'd think FIL could have found something to say, even if it was just that DS had worked hard and here was his homework, all finished in plenty of time, no last minute rush. Nope, no sense of pride for their GS here, just an overriding need to be seen as the biggest knobhead knowitall in the room.

It's so bloody miserly isn't it? How much would it cost him to say "Very good" or "You've worked hard on that"? As I said FIL was the same. Only ever negative comments, nothing positive or esteem building ever came out of his mouth.

GrockleBocs FIL rarely says anything positive unless he's talking about himself or the town that he comes from. Everywhere else is rubbish apparently. However, his town was voted one of the worst places in England to live, so he doesn't mention that anymore!
