WIBU to eat all the crispy duck?

SilverHairedCat · 16/02/2018 19:23

Lidl do a Gressingham crispy duck dish for £5, complete with pancakes and sauce. I bought it for us to eat 2 days ago, but we forgot.

DH is out for the night. I have roasted the duck and eaten my half. The other half is looking at me.

WIBU to just eat the rest?

Envy

that is all...

LuckyAmy1986 · 16/02/2018 19:41

YANBU one of my favourite things ever!

pastabest · 16/02/2018 19:42

What kind of half a duck has two legs?

SilverHairedCat · 16/02/2018 19:45

2 bones - AFAIK, one's the lower leg, the other is the thigh bone. Both came from the one joint of meat.

The rear end has two legs, so the back half, rather than the half with the beak... Grin

falsepriest · 16/02/2018 19:46

My word I could demolish that right now. Possibly my favourite thing at a Chinese restaurant (takeaway round the corner's just isn't the same)

GnotherGnu · 16/02/2018 19:49

If your DH has been out for the evening, he doesn't have any right to sulk.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/02/2018 19:51

Glad you succumbed.

A duck is barely a single portion at the best of times . . .

MsVestibule · 16/02/2018 19:51

Were you supposed to be leaving half for him?

we didn't discuss it. He may sulk slightly tomorrow.

Far better to seek forgiveness than ask permission. Worse case scenario, he buys one himself and scoffs it all in front of you. (Although that is divorcable behaviour.)

DuckAndPancakes · 16/02/2018 19:52

Absolutely fucking not

He’s OUT and you’re at home with nothing but duck and pancakes for company. How could you NOT eat them all?

I’m quite passionate about duck and pancakes.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 16/02/2018 19:53

Sounds like you made your mind anyway!

Blackteadrinker77 · 16/02/2018 19:53

You had to to fill the empty void he left by going out.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 16/02/2018 19:54

I'd eat it too. Duck is fair game in this house.

pastabest · 16/02/2018 19:55

AFAIK, one's the lower leg, the other is the thigh bone. Both came from the one joint of meat.

Then either that is a very small tray or a very big duck! Grin

No breast meat then?

SilverHairedCat · 16/02/2018 19:57

It is a small tray! And DH has just called to say he's had a Grand Big Mac, so I fessed up. I'm forgiven.

Well. That’s my evening sorted.

Oh wow I’ve just had a yoghurt and a banana but I am majorly craving that duck! I don’t even know where the nearest Lidl is! Hope it was yummy!

SillyBub · 16/02/2018 20:00

It's Chinese New Year today. It had to be eaten today. You done good. 🦆🥞

tolerable · 16/02/2018 20:00

of course you wbu to eat it...just chew it til the good bits over and spit out the rest....in a feminine stylee.ha

SilverHairedCat · 16/02/2018 20:00

Ah, well done Duck!

shortgreengiraffe · 16/02/2018 20:07

I often but one of these for OH and I to share. Except he isn't too keen on it so I tend to eat it on a night when he is out as I am kind like that. Similar with Camambert.

FYI Aldi do tempura chicken for under £2. Crispy duck, tempura chicken, microwaved egg friend rice and some prawn crackers feels like a full takeaway feast for well under £10 and it doesn't arrive cold.

mommytoboo86 · 16/02/2018 20:53

I had this same dilemma on thursday except it was millionaires cheesecake that had a quater left from Valentine's night dinner. I unashamedly ate it and then told dh that the cheesecake made me do it 😂😂😂
However, im still not forgiven as he'd been thinking about that cheesecake all day apparently 😮

CurlsLDN · 16/02/2018 20:58

OOH might have to get this next time im in Lidl!

Does it actually go crispy? My local takeaway only delivers flaccid duck...

Sitranced · 16/02/2018 21:02

Isn't it's like half a kilo of meat? Hmm

Terramirabilis · 16/02/2018 21:04

You should be ashamed. Some people are not only pregnant but 5000 miles away from the nearest Lidl. No consideration, some people.
