AIBU to wonder whether you're team SJP or team Kim (lighthearted)?

So it's always been rumoured that SJP and Kim Cattrall weren't exactly best buds when working on SATC. Kim kind of confirmed it in her interview with Piers Morgan recently and SJP was very hurt by her comments (apparently).

So Kim's brother passed away and SJP sent her condolences on social media to which Kim replies: www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-43018307

I always thought Kim seemed very sweet and friendly in interviews so maybe SJP was a bit of a cow to her.

What's your take? (If you care at all that is!)

KC strikes me as a woman I'd get along with, on that basis team Kim.

They clearly have beef but I think Kim acted irrationally and a bit mean what would it have taken to ignore SJP’s condolences .

Kim’s been saying for years that she and SJP don’t get on. She’s spoken about being bullied etc. Now if a woman who’d been bullying me sent me public condolences, I’d tell her straight to fuck right off and leave me alone. What KC said makes perfect sense to me.

I’m team ‘don’t give a fuck’. Although if pushed I will plump for team Kim, purely because of her star turn in Porkies. And SJP looks like a horse.

I agree that condolences should have been sent privately and that by using social media she's piggy backing someone else's grief. It's inappropriate and crass.

If you know that someone doesn't like you (because they believe that you have been unkind to them in the past), and they are going through a bereavement, leave them alone.

It doesn't matter if you think they are wrong about your past behaviour, or if you want to try to make up, now is not the time.

I have a bit of a crush on SJP and imagine (for no reason) Kim might be like her SATC character (ie horrible).

I've never seen SATC, but KC came across as a nice woman on 'Who do you think you are?'

SJP apparently sent her condolences to Kim regarding her brother. Kim's response made me like her more. SJP tries to make out all is well, despite Kim being honest about it. Team Kim all the way. SJP has this air about her. Like she thinks she's better than everyone.

If you read the NY Post article that Kim referenced in her Instagram it’s quite eye-opening about the nastiness that happened during filming, I get impression SJP can be super bitchy and nasty. I’m totally team Kim- she is absolute legend, a fantastic actress and above all, a Liverpudlian.

Really not very fucking lighthearted considering Kim Cattrall has been bereaved.

I get that bitchiness might be incredibly annoying, but really the best response is an eye roll and dignified silence. Ffs sake, quoting from SATC (series 4 I think) ‘stop it, you’re middle aged’

I've never really been a fan of SJP (even from way before SATC). Something about her rubs me the wrong way.

I don't know much about KC, but she's always seemed pleasant from what I have seen.

I think that they probably just don’t- and never did- get on and this is just a result of 20 odd years of tension between the two women.

While I’ve got a threads worth of possible SATC fans here though, I wonder if anyone else feels this or it’s just me.... I used to love the show. Was in my teens/twenties during the original run, had the box set, loved the (first) film and could watch it over and over. And then suddenly I woke up one day about two or three years ago and it makes me cringe. It was literally overnight. Cannot watch it at all now, makes me hide behind my hands, and I don’t know what happened to change how I felt about it. Maybe having a baby? But it didn’t directly coincide with the birth of DD1. Has anyone else had this?

Kim. Met her, she seemed very nice. Was around the time SJP was doing some dire perfume ad and prancing around in pink everything, singing about how she “loves being a girl”. KC cocked an eyebrow at this and how her take in femininity and womanhood was quite different.

I would've said team Kim - she seems like much better craic. SJP just doesn't seem like my kind of people, not helped by the fact that Carrie was beyond annoying.

However, Kim's post on Instagram just makes her seem unhinged, bereaved or not.

Someone I know met SJP in real life, told her how much she admired here work. SJP was not nice. Was very haughty and basically acted like she couldn't wait for 'the little people' to get out of her space.

I didn't watch SATC the first time round But for some reason I keep catching it on TV now on one of the shitty Foxtel channels. And it is AWFUL! They are all hideous people, why on earth did everyone rave about it so much?

It’s probably a clash of egos! Kim is the better actress all round, she was excellent as Carrie Kipling in My Boy Jack with David Haig. I think you could have a laugh with her, but sjp seems brittle and snotty.

Definitely of its time. Agree with fell used to love it but now I'm older find it utterly cringeworthy. Definitely for under 30s only.

Kim , when someone dies tragically you need people to call or even text you privately not exploit the tragedy to make themselves look like a nice person , Kim is grieving so I understand why she did what she did ,she just replied in the same forum that sjp used

Samantha has always been my favourite character and Carrie my least favourite so that's probably why!
