My DH had a torrid secret affair several years ago - now the OW claims to be dying from cancer and wants me to adopt their son! AIBU to say no?

Jennifer, everyone knows. I don't know if you know this, but it was on the radio, and now there is a website about it!

Look for the microphones, they must be all over the village. you have lived your life in a long term fly on the wall documentary.

Siobahn · 01/05/2007 13:49

Jennifer

I cannot believe you are making our heart ache even more public. Am I not going through enough already without seeing this on the forum I come to for support?

Brian is Rory's dad. He loves him. He will be there for him. You need to accept that.

And FWIW it was not a "torrid" affair. It was love.

raspberryberet · 01/05/2007 13:51

Oh, you don't have to make your decision now. Plenty of time for all that; it's not as if his bit on the side is about to pop her clogs just yet. Keep him hanging on; a bit of "will she/won't she" is great for the ratings.

slowreader · 01/05/2007 13:51

Jennifer have you thought of murdering your husband. I believe there is a silage pit locally so full of corpses one more would hardly be noticed.

LittleSarah · 01/05/2007 13:51

Phew, who knew that random radio 4 listening would do me such good?!

JenniferAldridge · 01/05/2007 13:52

martianbishop, I hope you're not implying that my mother knows - the shock would kill her!

Her DH (who is also very wealthy as it happens) has dementia and she is nursing him so patiently; she knows that my DH has always been something of a ladies' man but would have no idea that he was capable of this level of deception and betrayal

littlelapin, I don't understand what you mean about my DD?

Oh get away with yourself. You were after Greg the gamekeeper first! and when you couldn't light his fire you turned your attentions to Brian!

piglit · 01/05/2007 13:53

Siobhan - some mother you are. You can't even spell your son's name. It's Ruari.

(She can't spell Siobhan either, piglit)

jennifer I think you are safe re your mother knowing. She was busy mourning the loss of her cat at the time, so forgot to turn on.

Blandmum · 01/05/2007 13:54

it isn't, is is Ruureggghhaarr

JenniferAldridge · 01/05/2007 13:55

slowreader, I have to admit that thought does occasionally cross my mind as I toss and turn all night. My DH used to suffer occasional blackouts so it could probably be arrnaged to look like an accident.

piglit · 01/05/2007 13:55

Oh yeah. Durrr. Didn't spot that.

And another thing Siobhan - stop the simpering phone calls.

mamatres · 01/05/2007 13:57

i dont get it. what on earth are you lot on about? have i missed something?!!!!

MissGolightly · 01/05/2007 13:58

I think you should have an affair with Eddy Grundy, it will help heal your wounds. And up the ratings.

Blandmum · 01/05/2007 13:58

jennifer, stop posting and listen to radio 4 now!

LittleSarah · 01/05/2007 13:59

I'm afraid you have, as would I had I not listened to a certain Radio 4 programme last week, tis on in 1 minute.

JenniferAldridge · 01/05/2007 14:00

I am, martianbishop - a jolly boring programme about Elton John. Unfortunately I will have to switch off now and make some soup for a late lunch.

You are all so kind and helpful (except that bitch) thank you so much.

I am on alot of drugs. I am clinging to life by a thread. Sorry if my spelling isn't perfect.

The truth is I was typing while on the phone...

piglit · 01/05/2007 14:00

lolol!

suejonez · 01/05/2007 14:02

I don't think you should touch Eddie Grundy with bargepole - ake a leaf out of your DH's book and go for a younger model.. I hear Eddie's son Ed Jnr is a bit of alright.

slowreader · 01/05/2007 14:02

Jennifer, if you take my advice please do not do it tonight as I will be stuck at Brownies. Wednesday would be good, or Friday poss. but would prefer not to have to wait until Sunday to hear of consequences.
