I’ve tried biosen roll on and stick, I’ve tried soft and gentle spray, Be Kind and Mum.
Has anyone found one that works? Please tell me. Smile

Sanex Zero% is the only one I use that actually works for me.

Thingsthatgo · 09/02/2018 06:53

Thank you. I’ll have a look for the sanex one. Smile

Dr organics from Holland and Barrett work well for me

ATownCalledGallus · 09/02/2018 07:42

Sanex has 'Alum stone' in it ...aluminium by another name??

ATownCalledGallus · 09/02/2018 07:50

I've got something rose-scented with alcohol in it at the moment. Can't remember what it's called, though

Boatsonthewater · 09/02/2018 07:52

Waitrose does quite a good one.

LadyPenelopeCantDance · 09/02/2018 07:55

YANBU. I have the same problem and can only use roll on. The Sure Maximum Protection deodorants are great, but they leave my skin weeping a day after I use them.

slookiroo · 09/02/2018 07:57

Jason's with tea tree oil

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 09/02/2018 08:00

Pitrok or other ‘crystal’ deodorants work well

Iprefercoffeetotea · 09/02/2018 08:39

More expensive, but Green People, Neal's Yard Remedies and Urtecram all do eco-deodorants that work. They're not as effective as an anti-perspirant, but you don't smell, which is the main thing.

I've got a Dr Organics one from Holland & Barrett at the moment which came in a beauty box, it seems to be ok but I have only been using it for a few days.

Bubble2bubble · 09/02/2018 08:42

Urtekram or Moogoo work for me.

WyrdSisterWeatherwax · 09/02/2018 08:45

I've been using Lush's Aromaco for over 15 years and I love it. Even held up during a 3 week trip to a very hot and humid Oz last year.

loveka · 09/02/2018 08:47

Pitrock (from Boots) works! It is a crystal which you put on damp skin.

flobella · 09/02/2018 08:48

I use Tropic deodorant - £10 per tube plus postage but lasts for ages so probably not any more expensive than a typical deodorant in the long run.

Gingersstuff · 09/02/2018 08:51

The Natural Deodorant Company do lovely ecofriendly, non-aluminium ones. I've had a few samples and while they're not cheap they def work and smell gorgeous.

Latenightreader · 09/02/2018 08:54

Seconding the Natural Deodorant Company. A jar lasts ages and although I sometimes get a little damp, I don't smell. I've used it in 40 degree heat in Italy!

Brittanyspears · 09/02/2018 09:01

Tropic has aluminium in it last time I looked and its a MLM. Sofa and Gentle do a A free one. I like Salt of the Earth spray.

CalcatrippticLego · 09/02/2018 09:06

Pitrok as far as I can tell is ammonium alum i.e.ammonium aluminium sulphate.

If it has alum on the ingredients then it has some form of aluminium sulphate in it. Pitrok, for example only claim to be "Aluminium Chlorohydrate or Aluminium Zirconium" free. They don't claim to be aluminium free.

Thingsthatgo · 09/02/2018 10:28

Thank you so much! Lots for me to try. Smile

Boatsonthewater is that a Waitrose own brand one? Or just one you can buy there?

Is there such a thing as an aluminium-free deodorant which also works as an antiperspirant?

Or is aluminium the only effective antiperspirant ingredient?

LanaKanesTerfyVagina · 09/02/2018 10:36

I second Lush solid deo.

It really works and I love the smell.

It even works on DP and he's got a really sweaty physical job.

FlaviaAlbia · 09/02/2018 10:39

I love the pitrok sensitive bottled one, it really does work. Though I do think switching to soap in the shower instead of shower gel has helped too. There was a big thread on soap vs shower gel ages ago, but I've only recently done it and now I'm a convert.

Backenette · 09/02/2018 10:42

Genuine question. Is there any actual evidence that the Al is harmful?

Real evidence, as in peer reviewed and replicated, not mercola links or random ‘health woo’ websites?

Backenette · 09/02/2018 10:45

I know there’s evidence aluminium can be harmful in vitro but is there evidence that antiperspirant usage Per se is causally linked to breast cancer?
