"live forever" is the best song of the 90's; "mr bright side" is the best of the 00's and "get lucky" is the best of the 20-teens.

What have you got for second place?! Wink

Blue Monday goes on too long.

Don't You Want Me? Yep, I will allow that. Grin

I also love Feargal Sharkey-A Good Heart and Kim Wilde-You Came.

witchofzog · 06/02/2018 20:51

Also
Caribbean Queen
Foreigner I want to know what love is

feral · 06/02/2018 20:51

I just came on to say Smalltown Boy but got beaten to it!

Sparklingbrook · 06/02/2018 20:52

Huey Lewis and the News-Power of Love

Whitesnake -Here I go Again

Rebeccaslicker · 06/02/2018 20:52

Ooh, that foreigner one is a good shout.

Fleetwood Mac "everywhere" and "little lies" both excellent contenders too...

Mr Brightside would be the worst song in any decade it was written in. Don't Dream It's Over is one of the best 80s ones.

IllBeAtTheBarIfYouNeedMe · 06/02/2018 20:54

I think mental as anything’s live it up is my favourite 80’s song...

But then again sometimes it’s aha’s Take on me...

Or close to me, the cure...

I just love 80’s music

Feezles · 06/02/2018 20:56

You're all wrong. It's either Pet Shop Boys - Always on my mind or The Lightning Seeds - Pure.

Although I will concede Fleetwood Mac- Everywhere is an excellent choice.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/02/2018 20:57

This is the Day - The The
Chance- Big Country
Don't you forget about me or Somewhere in Summertime
Pretty in Pink
Road to Nowhere
Inbetween Days

I do bloody love Africa as well mind.

HamishTheTalkingCactus · 06/02/2018 20:58

No no no Feezles, it has to be Heart or It's a Sin by the Pet Shop Boys.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/02/2018 20:58

I beg to object that some of those listed are 1991 m'lud.

witchofzog · 06/02/2018 20:58

For Fleetwood Mac it needs to be The Chain

Rebeccaslicker · 06/02/2018 20:58

Hmmm, and "boys of summer" anyone? Who wouldn't want to belt that out whilst driving down the Californian coast in a convertible??!

MrsGrindah · 06/02/2018 20:59

Abracadabra
Hungry like the wolf
Living on a prayer
Caravan of Love or Happy Hour
I don’t wanna dance
Girls Just wanna have fun
.....don’t necessarily love them all but they all put me back into Ritzy’s in Leeds...

lastnamefirstfirstnamelast · 06/02/2018 20:59

Love is a battlefield is up there!
When love breaks down - prefab sprout (such an emotional song)
Champagne supernova - best of the 90's

Rebeccaslicker · 06/02/2018 20:59

Witch - ah, "rumours" is my favourite album, but it's a 70's one.

Feel free to open up the 50's, 60's and 70's catalogues :)

witchofzog · 06/02/2018 21:00

The Chain is 70's? Dammit Grin

RiceButt · 06/02/2018 21:00

Yes yes yes!!!! Africa is my favourite song ever. Bloody love it! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 06/02/2018 21:01

I do love Frankie Goes to Hollywood-Relax. It was the talk of school when it got banned.
As soon as I hear the opening bars I am back in Birmingham underage nightclubbing on a school night. Those were the days etc.

Deacon Blue-Chocolate Girl.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/02/2018 21:01

For Fleetwood Mac it has to be Sarah or Gypsy. Though my own favourite is def 1980s- Mystified. (Tango in the night album)

NotACleverName · 06/02/2018 21:01

YABU because it's clearly Never Let Me Down Again by Depeche Mode.

HamishTheTalkingCactus · 06/02/2018 21:03

Are Friends Electric ...

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/02/2018 21:05

I bought the single Africa on the 10th Feb 1982.

It was snowing and I had an.optician's appointment and wore a sheepskin coat. For some reason all the girls in my 6th form had one.

PrivateParkin · 06/02/2018 21:06

Ahem, Sisters are doing it for themselves is the 80s No1, although I have a soft spot for Africa OP.
I love a bit of Mental as Anything though IllBeAtTheBarIfYouNeedMe. The 80s was a great decade for music.
