AIBU?

AIBU to ask for your wacky immune system boosting tips? I'm sick of being sick.

Any suggestions?

I am continually getting viruses, currently off sick with tonsillitis.

Dr has done a range blood test and there's nothing wrong there.

I'm normally a very logical scientific person who doesn't buy into wacky home remedies but I'm now getting desperate!

To rule out the obvious, for the last year I have been taken vitamins c, d and zinc as well as using Vicks first defence, to no effect.

What are your tips for me to boost me immune system?

Posters on here have mentioned the positive effects of fermented foods. Gut bacteria health increasingly linked to overall health.

After a nasty illness which was linked to my auto immune system I took a course of goats milk kefir. It was a months worth which came in the post from Wales and you kept in the fridge. Very reasonably priced. The company was called Chuckling Goat. Tasted a bit weird but got used to it.

Went from feeling as bad as I have ever done - completely wasted, weak and achy. I was post viral at this point and discharged from the doctor. To feeling, well, just great. Buoyant and full of energy. This was over a period of about 8-10 weeks. Including the 4 weeks taking the kefir everyday.

Who knows? They swear by it Eastern Europe apparently. Some drink it everyday. Particularly after an illnes. Worked for me.

Thanks for all the fermenting advice. I've now got a batch of sauerkraut brewing.

I'm also mixing my morning oats with live yogurt in advance every evening and leaving out the fridge over night, apparently this works too for getting good a gut (anyone else heard of this?)
