To think threading is like a form of torture!

I have my eye brows shaped fairly regularly as I am unable to do them myself.

Over the years I have had had them waxed/tweezered without a problem.

A few years ago I tried having them threaded - I like the result but it was so bloody painful! I didn't try it again for ages!

I have tried it on occasion since and every time it is the same.

Tried again today and although the last who did it was much more gentle than previous people it still feels like torture that you pay for! Someone next to me was having their top lip threadedShock

Does anyone else find threading so painful?

I am sticking to waxing/tweezering in future!

I've had it done in Turkey a lot, where the beauticians are more skilled and light-handed than the UK. Here they lean into you in a see-saw motion as if they're cutting thick cheese with a wire.
I ask for a pad of soothing lotion BEFORE they start and apply it immediately after they finish each area. The way they do both eyebrows, upper lip and then, with no sense of urgency, apply soothing cream at the end to clean, makes no sense at all.

The key is in the person holding the thread - the woman I go to now is a bit more expensive and so much more skilled. It hurts on the top lip, but less---- so than other women who have done it.

I get my pregnancy beard chin done weekly and brows and top lip monthly. Lasts longer than a wax/pluck and gets everything!

I find it really painful when I’m due/on my period, so try to avoid doing it then. Any other time is much more tolerable for me.

YANBU. Got them done once and never again. I'm sticking to waxing. I've never felt pain like it. It was like paper cuts on my eye lids.
