It's Seattle Arts and Lectures who cancelled Rose's appearance. Due to concerns about her "public behaviour". I've sent them an email. This has really infuriated me. How fucking dare they.

She's clearly very vulnerable, and doesn't have the capacity to handle stress at the moment. I'd rage if I was attacked with the words she was, with her history. Appalling.

Rose reacted in precisely the way I would expect an abuse survivor to react when attacked. It takes a few moments for the adrenaline to wear off. She tried placating Andi, he wasn't having it. He got more aggressive and security was nowhere.

Personally I think any public person, group, charity or politician who accepts gifts or loans or financial deals should have to publicly declare them and any strings attached to the deal.
That would create a more open society.

There is a surprise… A male born, sexual predator now harasses a female victim of male sexual violence. This is just another continuation of male entitlement and male aggression. Even when identifying as a female, they still want to oppress actual women and silence us. I am so sick of this because these trifling motherfuckers are actually harming many genuine trans women who aren't playing with the latest cause celebre by stirring up resentment. They are hijacking our genuine struggles and trying to shout us down.

I'm going to order buy her book in solidarity- she's had to cancel the tour. I'm struggling to resist the temptation of £13 next day delivery with Amazon, and in googling "Rose McGowan Amazon" I discovered that she'd told her Amazon bosses about Harvey W and was brushed off.

I barely have words... I am shocked at how this is being reported. Absolutely disgusting to see Rose painted as the bad guy. The alll-encompassing aggressive narcissism of these TIM-TRAs is very, very concerning.

I feel so bad for Rose. Who wouldn't become slightly enrgaged given the circumstances, her vulnerability at that moment and the bizarreness that she ends up being the one who is accused and attacked. She is bearing the brunt of this on behalf of all women, and also on behalf of children who are vulnerable to perverted power abusers who thrive on secrecy and control in similar cirsumstances to Weinstein et al, so I will also be buying her book ASAP and emailing the publishers to show my support.

I think there is a real sytematic attempt stop women getting properly and justifiably angry - if we do, we are shamed and/or ridiculed. I think this is in the main because many people fear that if women as a group actually get angry, we wont' "go mad" or become ineffective, we will just actually get really, realy fucking angry and take some real action to change some things. Or like Rose, speak the actual truth.

It is put across as for our own good - because anger is toxic or some shit, or to keep the moral highground - but I think we are being systematically defused to keep the satus quo. I mean, wars have been started (by men) over far less important things... The misogynistic backlash is really starting to kick in now and I worryingly I think there will be worse to come.

Very much agree unplugme. The TIM was aggressive and confrontational yet Rose is being painted as irrational, hysterical, out of control, emotional. Just NO.

Someone has linked to a twitter feed analysing some of Andi wassisface's social media (comes with massively strong not safe for work warning) - the man (and yes, he is a man) is clearly a complete pervert with a thing for animated paedophilia and racial fetishisation - yet the women's march are lauding him as a hero and villifying McGowan. "Fucking traitors" is an entirely accurate summing up.

For years, I recognised the rights and spoke out for genuine trans women. However, there is now a new breed of professional agitators, who abuse genuine trans issues for their own misogynist agenda. These self-confessed trannies are fake chicks with dicks who still exploit male privilege and use their male entitlement to try and silence women speaking out. It’s a new schtick to get attention and hijack women’s issues. I say bollocks to them!
