Dw Yet, doesn't come across like you're correcting the OP.
- Trigger warning before comments on Dier's discussion of assault
Dier's equation of assault of trans people to genocide by burning is sickening (and as long as we're making a mockery of the word 'genocide', he might want to acknowledge a similar 'genocide' of women over here, seeing as though the UK female homicide rate is greater than the one he cites later on for trans people - I mean, why bother considering scale or context if you've got a point to ram home eh).
Because when someone pulls down her pants and sees a vagina, she won't be murdered for it. That is not something she fears. That's why she's cis.
It's just not a thing we fear, guys! We don't have to worry our heads about it! We just have to flash our cis badges and relax in the certainty that the psychopath raping us isn't womanphobic to the point he'd do anything irrational. Our leviathan privilege, it's a comfort at times like those.
(Actually Dier, yes we bloody fucking do feel the fear.)
But I've also almost been murdered for getting a bite to eat.
Yes, because assault by strangers never happens to women also going about their daily lives. Me? I opened the front door. Oops, right? Stepped a liiittle out of line there, like, almost into a public space.
What are you saying, Dier? Assaults on trans people are more unprovoked than assaults on women? Fuck that. Shame on you for point scoring. What we go through doesn't take away from what you go through.
No, this isn't a march for women.
"I'm not a revolutionary."
Why, I'm shocked. You had a jolly good go at Marxism 101 bingo though, didn't you, so take heart.
