To ask why you think the press is so obsessed with Malia Obama dating a white boy?

It just seems so meaningless to me. Yes she's the daughter of the former POTUS but outside of that she's surely just a teen dating a guy she finds hot.
Why all the 'think' pieces etc? And why all the drama about them?
Can't they just have some peace to shag like I did at uni and get to know each other?

Oh come on. You can't "not notice" skin colour or visible racial heritage. I remember well early 90s London when there was a much deeper sense of not attaching any importance to it. But not caring isn't not seeing.

There aren't enough 🙄 in the world for this comment. It matters a lot that he achieved that.

She's pretty and young, she's the daughter of a former US president (who along with his wife is very popular with the media) and she's dating a British guy, which gives it a UK angle.

The media are obsessed with who she's dating, just like they're obsessed with who Brooklyn Beckham or the young members of the royal family are dating.

I'm in the US (not far from Malia Obama as it happens) and I've seen no coverage whatsoever about her dating life on any US news outlet.

Same for me (except for the proximity to Malia) and I closely follow many news sources.

Laughing at the poster who didn't notice Obama was black.

I've not seen any reports about who anyone is dating but I think the way the US is going, it's easy to imagine it being commented on.

It is certainly easy to imagine. In real life it hasn't happened. As many posters here from the US have said.

Vlad - you can't string an argument together. Your postings are illogical. You still haven't linked proof of the media's supposed obsession with Malia dating a white boy - i.e. an obsession over race, which is in the heading of your OP. Yet, when I point this out, as has another poster, you get defensive and abusive. The reason I'm missing the point - as you don't make one coherently!

You initially seem to focus on race - not backed up with any proof the media has an obsession - then witter on about she shouldn't be in the public eye at all - you've changed your point not me; I was merely querying it. There is nothing I've seen in the press about their racial backgrounds. Where is it (for the umpteenth time of asking)? Back up what you're saying. You're the one changing your argument as you don't seem to be able to link to any news reports about the race issue that the press is obsessed about. Very woolly.

Give me 5 reports showing the press is obsessed with Malia dating a white boy that have a focus on their racial differences. No one seems to have seen them apart from you. This was the main point in your original OP that I queried. I don't see what is so hard to understand. There is no need for the abuse.
